Element Castle is a compact, mobile-first match-3 tower defense game. Every tower starts as a puzzle move: match elemental gems, create mages, place them along the path, then decide when to stack, merge, or spend their limited charges.

Merge two single-element mages to unlock hybrid spell kits. Lava burns and slows. Storm puddles shock enemies inside a zone. Plague stacks poison and dark damage. Frozen pools lock down lanes. With 21 hybrid recipes, each run is about turning your puzzle board into the right defense before the next wave reaches the castle.

Try Element Castle prototype on itch.io

How To Play

  1. Choose an unlocked node on the world map.
  2. Match 3+ gems to create elemental mages.
  3. Drag mages from the backpack into tower slots.
  4. Stack matching mages to level up and refill charges.
  5. Merge two different single elements to create a hybrid.
  6. Survive all three waves before enemies break the castle.

Features

  • Mobile-first match-3 tower defense.
  • 7 elements with readable combat roles.
  • 21 hybrid recipes with distinct spell behavior.
  • Charge-based mages: every shot matters, and empty towers disappear.
  • Stack matching mages to level up and refill charges.
  • Branching 9-level world map with changing element pools.
  • Multiple enemy lanes, winding paths, and level-specific tower positions.
  • Six enemy classes, from fast scouts to heavy colossi.
  • Short tactical levels: each battle is three escalating waves.
  • Play in browser on itch.io, with desktop builds planned/available depending on release packaging.

Nice art. I like it

good game)  Very simple gameplay, but a lot of fun =)

Very nice game! I like it

The game looks good! I love this legend) awesome.

Thank you so much for playing and for the kind feedback! I really tried my best to make a solid and enjoyable rhythm game, so I’m very happy to hear that.

I totally agree about the restart button - that’s a great point and definitely something I should add.

Originally, I was planning to make 3,…,5 levels for each animal, but after considering the time and scope, I decided to leave that idea for the future.

Thanks again for the feedback and support!

Great game, new for me.  Added to wishlist

Awesome! A lot of  fun! Good job :)

Awesome! A lot of  fun! Good job :)

Such a cool concept! The art and music are fantastic, it feels very atmospheric.

Thank you very much, I’m really glad you liked it! This is my first experience with a rhythm game, so I still have a lot to learn, but I’m excited to keep improving and exploring this direction.

Awesome ;) It's a hardcore game for me, but I like it.

Better call, Mom ;)  Nice game, good job!)

A simple but interesting concept. I liked it.

Nice, I liked this game. Though finishing the maze in 20 seconds is a bit hardcore

Hi, all Art was generated with Gemini (sprite sheets, backgrounds, light mask), except for the shadows -  the shadow image was downloaded from the internet. This is my first experience generating assets, and it turned out to be very useful. I’m not good at making art, and AI turned out to be a very helpful tool for me in this.

P.S. all images for game page theme generated by Gemini too. Background for spriteshits was removed by https://app.photoroom.com/, because Gemini generated it with gray cells ;)

Haha yeah, that one’s on me Completely forgot about a menu and quick retry, so for now you have to suffer through the whole level. Thanks for playing and for the great suggestion - noted!

Thanks a lot! I tried to make the gameplay fun and laid-back. Glad you liked it! :)
