I just had the most hilarious accident, and no doubt a key factor in my Experiment's death. they were feeling gloomy while I was vying to get secure cargo, so I did what anyone would do and put dynamite on my body storage, lit it with the intent to drag and drop, then run. emphasis on intent. they would not drop it. like "NO, BAD DOG! DROP THE STICK OR I SWEAR" by the third attempt to drag and drop they dropped it but it was too late :( i did get the cargo though :)

there should be an accessibility option that gives you pyrovision (if you know you know), everything's happy, confetti blood, yipee and all that. would be funny methinks 

you can already save scum through the ` console.

aww, no 6th layer :( when are we gonna get a place for these fungus items that definitely seem like plant loot?

thinking about it more, its like the world didn't load, Expie fell all the way to the bottom and went splat! i think this because upon quitting and coming back, it showed the next layer as if i progressed

when he eats burger with no honey mustard :(

hmm, i tried to resume my run entering layer 5 and it never loaded, and it sounded like i died in the background. oh well, time to download V5.03 i guess

can we get the patch notes posted in the development log please? because as it stands, there's nothing saying what's new/changed. it's odd that there's only two there.

why is this V5.01 when the last build was V5.5??

no ending yet, you just loop. as for a tip... just trial and error, learn the traps and enemies. guess my advice amounts to "git gud" lol

i legit think making that game would be illegal and put you on a list, lol. saying you could voice act raises even more alarming questions.

from what i heard, its in the plan, but you have to WIN to get a new species.

everyone keeps saying its like noita, and now im picturing perk selection in between layers

that first death sticks with you if you go into the game blind. i remember staring at the death screen like i just saw a man die, and was wondering if id go through it again. (i did, many times, you'll get used to it lol)

nothing more awkward than the "last stand" trigger that you KNOW is not going to help and only add more suffering.

if you want to save and quit, you can open the command console with `. type saveandquit (should appear just by typing save?)

this will make you quit without losing your save, but it will also reset you to the start of the layer. think of it as revert to last checkpoint. also re-rolls the layer for something different.

there is eye equipment you can find to do that!

unchipped needs some work definitely. the field of view even hides dialogue. 

i was lucky enough to see traps trigger on other things in my first run, wish i could go in completely blind again :)

aw, got my hopes up for an update. oh well, i can wait :)

dynamite, heavy plasma cutter, or grabbing things through any small gaps in the wall. (you can open boxes through walls)

i heard rumors that yes, there will be other species, but you will have to beat the game to unlock one?

a way to seal and unseal a liquid container would be great

be warned, if you're playing V4, jumping into V5 will have a new learning curve, mainly the new crafting and intelligence system! the recipes you know by heart will be obsolete, and you will start from zero. one thing you'll have going for you is knowing what items do what, because your character might not be smart enough to know! (you can still use unidentified items)


then there's the liquid storage system, very neat, and most liquids are used in crafting in some way. (but only when in a container, some reason water on the map won't count, you can fill containers by dipping them into the water)


only 5 layers are in the game, but environmental items like produce for the 6th layer seem to be in the game through traders? one of which is used in a recipe and you need two of it... good luck with that :)

where does one get such lore? plus, I wouldn't say it's woke. hermaphroditism occurs in a handful of real creatures, so why not in a genetically engineered creature?

this train of thought reminds me of Jurassic Park, and life, uh, finds a way.

at the end of every tier, you'll be prompted to continue or save and quit. that's the only way to save (so far?)

my head canon is that they are genderless creations, only born in a lab. But that’s been brought into question by one saying “my father would be proud” when landing.

inshallah, he (they? it??) will die a painful death. 

v4 had a way to see what things are used for in crafting, and only show recipes related to the selected item. any way to do that in v5? it seems backwards in terms of quality-of-life.

there still is incentive to craft new things, but i get what you mean. v5's crafting and recourses, minigames, and stuff makes for slower progress. my runs definitely take twice as long to get to the same depth.

that would be cool, like a new drop pod hitting! (Causing an earthquake, lol)

but they can be useful and destroy tough blocks, getting you into secure areas (or at least let you yoink things through a 1 block hole) and drain liquids

I actually disapprove of that change! the game is all about overcoming hardship, and being shaken awake should definitely be one of the challenges you can face. time doesn't stop when you sleep!

instead of removing it, they should add ways of protecting against it, like anchoring yourself or a tent item!

in the area that says sound warning... could you just like, not do that? the character can go deaf; the player doesn't need to as well!

oh, and what's the pretesting download? I assume it's the beta build, but how's it different?

random thought, for every 1% of brain damage, you should get 2% mood decrease resistance? too dumb to realize how bad things are.

I can't stop playing for some reason, even though the later traps are horrible, all my storage breaks basically sending me back to carrying nothing (when you need everything), and general disappointment when the inevitable death happens due to bad luck (an earthquake while sleeping made me fall, leaving my gear behind, and right into a turret. bruh)

put a lightbulb in my mouth because I thought it would be funny, and it was. (I didn't see the warning till after).

and then I did it again because it had zero charge left and wouldn't hurt me again. (I was wrong)


all seriousness, why would it hurt me again?? there's no charge in it!

hope the future is promising. 

after four runs and only getting to layer 3 (just how far down CAN you go?)

anyways, I'm not a fan of equipment decay (especially storage containers and backpacks). maybe this could be a setting? or a durability system for such equipment, rather than the simple time based decay.


also, the lighting is... off. bright lights are too bright, and some visual effects are annoying.

infection seems too harsh, i cant seem to ever fix it. (skill issue likely)
