This game is gorgeous, I love the detail in the visuals. It's hard to even pick specifics, there's just so much attention to detail from the character designs (grandma with her yarn omg) and the environments to the animation of the changing mansion.

I'm gonna have to come back to this one later when I have more time, the writing's got me hooked! Well done to everyone ^^

I'd also love to play this once the playable version is out, the screenshots look amazing. Good luck with the fixes and make sure to take care too!

I love the pop-up effect on the environment, and the movement on the stairs was really cool! Great work on building such a tense atmosphere with such a unique visual style ^^

Thank you very much! I appreciate it ^^

Thank you for playing! I'll keep in mind to go a little easier on the difficulty next time, checkpoints probably would have been a good idea here :p

Thank you for playing and for the kind words! Yeah I had checkpoints on my to-do list, in hindsight I wish I would've taken the time to get those in after all. I appreciate the feedback about it, I'll keep it in mind for the future! <3

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words <3

Great game, SO much bread was toasted. I had a lot of fun kiting the bread around and nuking them, the particle effects really add to the experience hahah. I did struggle a bit with seeing the enemies when they were in the shadows since those are quite dark-- in the end I made sure to stay in the well-lit areas so I wouldn't get any loaves of bread sneaking up on me 😅 But overall really nice job, also on the extra details like the menu screen!

Thank you! I honestly did a double-take when I saw how lightweight the Godot engine really was, it's like magic hahah. I'm lucky enough that I have worked on the art-side of game dev before and took up Python coding last year, so a lot of it made sense-- though I'll have to re-do a lot of it if I ever want to expand on this project, with how messy it is xD

And yeah, I ran into that black box issue as well on some browsers ;; In my case it happened only on browsers with customized WebGL settings, though I haven't figured out how to fix it yet. Good to hear that other people are running into it too though, so I know it's not just something on my end!

Ahah I'm glad you liked it! I definitely struggled with the toast cravings while making the jam, I was so close to getting my toaster out 😄

Thank you! I'm honestly having a blast with Godot, the docs and tutorials are really helpful whenever I get stuck. This game jam was pretty difficult for me since everything was so new, but I already feel like I can do much better with what I learned. Huge props to the community for making it so accessible ^^ Glad I'm not the only one!

Thank you! ^^

Thank you! I always struggle with picking cohesive color palettes, so the lospec website is an absolute goldmine for finding interesting color palettes :D

Thank you! I'm glad I managed to get that atmosphere across ^^

Really enjoyed this one! The overall mechanics are simple enough to figure out right away, but you still get to lock in to reach that max score without getting overtoasted. And the visuals are really cute.

Personally I would've liked having the crunch noises at a slightly lower volume-- I loved the SFX from the combo going up, but I ended up lowering the volume because those crunch sounds were a bit much for me. But hey, that's definitely personal preference. Either way, the variation in sound pitch was a nice touch!

I had a lot of fun with this one! I like that the toast snaps to the toasters pretty generously so it doesn't feel unfair if you get close enough. I did have to restart the game because I ended up jamming the toast between two ovens, but that one's on me for launching it right at the gap with full power hahah. Great entry ^^

I love the gameplay and the characters (so much lore, woah). It's especially satisfying to line the enemies up and hit them all with a single bullet :D I did run into enemies that spawned right on top of me a few times, but aside from that little detail I enjoyed the game!

Everyday I wake up, and every day I pet Milo.

Great work on all fronts, everything from the art to the music enhances the game so well! The one thing I would've liked was a small delay when continuing text-- a few times I ended up accidentally double-clicking past some text (but it was easy to re-read recent lines, so it was fine).

Might have to come back to this later to play through the story a few more times!
