Heyo!

I recently uploaded my game "RED CLAW" onto itch.io and i am looking for feedback.

I've been developing Red Claw about  a month  now, and i thougth it was ready for open beta.

About:

Its made in HTML5 and is playable in browser. so no download required

RED CLAW is yet another platformer but with a Claw/grappling.... hand?

you jump over spikes, Activate pressure plates to open up your path, defeat enemies, collect sunglasses to see&go througth special walls. and reach the finish coin.

you are a lil guy/bald girl who has a red claw, wich helps you carry arround boxes, defeat enemies and pull you up to certian places and... juggle?(optional)

there is an adaptive jump heigth, a jump buffer, a coyote timer and a movement via A/D (who could've see this coming? 0_0)

Rigth now it contains 3.5 completed levels (3 full ones and 1 wich is only a demo of an idea) and 2 aditional levels to 1. showcase the coyte time feature and 2. showcase the heart item.

lvl1 lvl2 lvl3

(i also made a seperate level editor/builder to build levels for my game. its a good tool for myself since i dont have to use that stupid js grid function anymore. but if you wanted to test someting out in my game, or just build and play a selfmade level, maybe even share it with others/me. try it out. since i reccomend playing the game first, i will not link it here. its linked in the description of red claw.)

there isnt really much more about to say. if you want to, check it out and consider giving me some feedback!

RED_CLAW

hey! i really liked your game and it IS playable. its a good rougelike, the abilites are cool. i love the muisc. 10/10

apreciate it man !

ok no but thats pretty cool.

wait... late 70's? my dad wasnt eaven born back than and im 15....

also it really impressive how you have about.... >100 projects only on your itch page... since beinning 2026... thats impressive.. i usually take arround 3 weeks to make a really good game.

thank you ma fella!  and yes i get it. the game is just really simple, and fun, but too simple. why would others like to play my game. i genuenly dont know. it was just a really rushed side project.

thanks for the rating and the follow tho.  I actually checked your pages before i saw you just replied to my work. and tbh they look cool, but kinda suspicious... It gives like a really uncanny, special vibe, wich, dont get me wrong is really cool. how do you call that or perhaps it doesnt have a name...

Cheers!

Hey! I played your game about 10-15 minutes.... i cant remember, wich... is a good singn.

okay the great things first:

1. Athmosphere. Its really strong, the music underlines it perfectly, the graphics are working. It kind of unsettleing to play this... in a good way.

2. Turn based Figthing sys. its Fun. Its really easy to understand, each character having his own abilites, being important for the player.

3. Gameplay. to walk arround in this.... kind of maze like, Substructure. the slow walk. The (1.) athmosphere. collecting abilites. (ref1)

something thats good and bad:

The Unkown. exept of the good desinged menu and intro, you dont know anything about the game. it puts you rigth into it. wich is good to keep the athmosphere but, it feels like i missed a tutorial. (connect1)

allthougth, your game has some sligth downsides:

1.Linear gradient/ctr shader. the shader makes the game look good. retro. but it makes the small text unreadable from afar. this is why I also did not read the ability text untill i was near dead at the first boss.

2. Lore?. (connet1) Fist I am a red spike, than i am a dark person, than I am figthing a giant.... thing? and I am 3 dark guys? I did not really get what its about in the first 15 minutes of playing it.

3. Well.. there is no bad 3th thing but a good one. Could not find any bugs except the giant spider... wich as spider probably doesnt count as bug.

ref1: In general i think its a good game idea. getting lost in a labiriyth, figth the bosses, really cool.

I Had a great time playing your game. also the title sounds good weather its ORGIN or ORGIN_

The Trailer for you game is also really strong. Its the first trailer i saw on itch that is not only 1 video of gameplay.

and the reason why I picked your game to playtest first is: the visuals, how it catched my eye at the Cover, the screenshots.

Keep up building your game. rn its a 3.7/5

Greetings, Cookie-Crumb

(just saw its your first project here... wow. thats crazy)

I just wanted to say Hi! how are you doin my fellas?

Hi I got a question:

i can upload my game for free and In the bundle togeter with all the other games it will still cost $10 and support the charity?

thanks for your answer!

Eyo fist, im a real fan of your game bro. its so great!!!! and second. well yes. this game is my first ever scratch project. you have to be carefull clicking. only 1ce untill you see the "I Won!" or "I lost..." text. also i quick rushed this "project" in  less than 1 hour. I just wanted to submitt something, and my first ever scratch game seemed a good choice. allthou 0% polish....

yea it almost does. You just use the spacebar really rarely. Also Scratch Is so freaking hard. im currently working on a 2d Platformer and 2/5 planned levels are done. im just not used to scratch

Oh thats good.

First i thougth i would attack earth......

(1 edit)

WAIT. i can now rate every submitted game. the queue seems to be only a few (3) items long?

i did just look up the Create a new game Jam page on itch

Allthougth it is really hard, I completely enjoyed the atmosphere of this game. Thank you!

(3 edits)

wait.....  NOOO. you'd better ask Juniper.... but it looks like the queue should have an end? except she set it to not having an end.....

eh... I Guess after you finished rating your queue you can Rate every Game. So just Rate every Game on your queue, Than Play Other games and Rate them.

Thanks, you too cat croissant. See you in future Jams!

wow sooooo cool!

.... this thread has already gone on for so long  xD yeah... well i will upload anything i make in the future on my itch.io... and the things i did back than... well  i cant access them i want really into saving my scratch games from my old computer.... wearnt really good tho.... however.  i migth get scratch now and make something, after done with game jame :)

yeah for real. thats cool.... btw also as i played your game it reminded me to the good old times... a 10 year old me just downloaded scratch.... i maybe should try it again.

thanks for your kind words! also if you havnt seen them yet the jam results are out!!!!

im really exited.

Im happy you think its fun:)  and actually I just generated the colors proceduraly with HSL. the hue is based on each tiles position and cycles over time. you can see the full maze in its rainbow colors if you pres Q and K at the same time.

hehehhee thank you. I didn't really know how to make it more goofy than making it more colourful......

Thank you. Im Happy You Like It!

so great!!!

Okay. Finally. About 30 Minutes before the end of the Jam I Managed to Finish My Game (updates may still come).  I eliminated the bug by making the game calculate an open path from the start and finish position to the next open Pixel. You will never get stuck again.

(1 edit)

Yes. Happens not anymore. Theres actually an no chance that the start or finish point doesn't connect to the rest of the Maze. thats bcs I edited shadowMaze just Today to eliminate this glitch. thanks For Playing :)

Well looks Like you Got it and. Looks Really Good for your First game uploaded on Itch. and Im definitely Looking forward To play It later when I Get home!

yay

Yeh I Apologize for The Game idea Being Not that Clear. And Yes I will Defenetly Improve This Game After the Jam is Over.

Hhehehehe Happy you Like it

whoa. that makes me happy. i will defenetly improve locker#142 after the jam is over. but if i do it now its not fair.

Hehehe Thanks! if you played it for at least 90 seconds You have saw everything you could've seen...

im happy u still got it into the jam with your project. but somehow no matter the graphics settings, on my laptop the game wont run above 10 fps or so. :(

OHHHH  that make sense
