⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁WELCOME TO THE 2025 ROBOTIC ROMANCE (RoRo) JAM! 。 ₊°⊹ ࣪
Hello robot lovers! This is a jam meant to celebrate robotic characters and the relationships we like to see them in; whether they’re cute, scary, erotic, clinical, or what have you. If you want to kiss robots or perhaps would identify with the robot being kissed, then this is the jam for you! 💻
RULES [▣🝙▣]
NO AI GENERATED CONTENT.
Finishing/returning to old projects is fine as long as you aren't submitting an already completed project!
Due to the themes behind the jam, we are mostly expecting story-based games, interactive fiction, comics, visual novels, etc. HOWEVER you CAN make any kind of project you want. Getting creative with your medium is 100% encouraged. It DOES NOT have to be a game!
Projects must prominently feature at least ONE robotic character and some flavor of romantic theme. What "romance" and "robot" mean here are elaborated on in the next few points. TL;DR, we keep it very vague.
"Romance" is used loosely here in regards to relationships. The characters in your story do not have to “end up” together, nor does romance need to be the MAIN focus of your story. The love can even be toxic and horrible if you want. Maybe the robot character is incapable of feeling true love at all, so you focus on a “lack” of relationship. We want to show “romance” in its various forms using artificial characters. Make it as messy and complicated as you want.
“Robot” is also vague. You could write about an android, a supercomputer, a cyborg, or even a piece of software. They can be humanoid or a mechanical abomination.
We don’t want to restrict creativity on what a robot can be! The idea is that the character is physically robotic in some way, but the specifics are up to you.
Stories can have dark and NSFW themes, but please indicate their existence on your page in some way. That said, the jam runners reserve the right to remove any games with unmarked or offensive content at their own discretion.
Robotic interpretations of the queer or neurodivergent experience are always welcome and encouraged, but any sort of pairings are allowed! Explore whatever you want.
Robot/human pairings are great, but are not the main focus of this jam— Robot/robot (and robot/other) pairings are awesome too.
Have fun! Polish not required, perfection never obligatory. Flaws are not an issue if you have a good time!
