Which theme(s) did your game incorporate, and how?
Everything has a cost with minor pig themes. Be a capitalist pig and build your AI mega corporation. Every thing you build and destroy has a cost. Make sure to stick around for the not so secret ending (it'll only take about 10 minutes of your time)!

Did you use any pre-made assets? If so, what were they and where were they from?
All of the audio is comprised of CC0 assets from freesound.org.

Sound design was insanely good. Also, overall design is great. Length makes sense for the jam. But I could keep going.

That's very kind of you to say! The audio all came in last minute, and instead of figuring out how to do positional audio in love2d, I created each track to match the length it would take to pass on screen and cross fade from right ear to left ear in the waveform. It was a very quick and dirty solution, so I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks for playing!

I have seen they were a bit off. Like their center sound played when they are more to the left, therefore I was confused which building caused which sound. But overall the idea is wonderful. I fear what you could make if you had time. :D

Couldn't help but laugh as I realized I doomed the planet. Whoopsie daisey! (at least I became a billionaire lol)

As some say, "everything has a cost" haha. I'm very happy to hear this little toy I made got that reaction out of you! :)

Thanks for playing!

That is a nice game. Perhaps there should be an orphanage that gets replaced for some extra feeling of guilt? A puppy hospital? A baby seal care center? Also I think the energy seems to renewable. Dirty and black coal instead of nuclear and waste? The moral message at the end is a nice touch :)

Developer

You seem to understand 100% what we were going for. Those are all great suggestions and I love them. When brainstorming with my buddy who did the art we knew we needed different sized power sources that people would intuit as being different orders of magnitude, and were strictly not renewable. Nuclear was an obvious non-renewable for the last power source, but we know its actually a pretty good power source in terms of efficiency, so we just made the nuclear plant leak. That'll be on message. :) I also wanted to spawn piles of dead bodies as you destroyed all the farms and hospitals, but I didn't leave myself much time to build the game out to meet our vision.

Thank you so much for playing!

It was my pleasure. I know about the time thing. Some dark fumes later on you have to click away before you can 'invest' would be fun too.

Fun game, but the clicks get pointless pretty fast? or am I mistaken?

Developer

Very astute. I just ran out time and didn't try to adjust what each resource cost/produced until about 2 hours before the jam deadline, so its all sorts of wonky. I also felt that there wasn't enough content to ask a player to continue much longer than 10ish minutes, so I tuned the costs in those last two hours to hit that mark, and it really diminished the need for clicking, but it was too late to fix it. Honestly, I was tired of clicking after all that play testing, so it felt right to me at the time. :)

Thank you for playing!

I loved this. It has everything I want in a game. Clicker, number get big, awesome artwork, and funny jokes with a real message.  I think maybe some copyright free or royalty free ominious music would be the only cherry topper I can think of.  This game should win.

Wow, that is very kind of you to say! I greatly appreciate it! There was no audio until a few hours before the submission deadline, so it was very much a last minute thought for me. I half convinced myself that people don't listen to clicker games because it would get monotonous, but since this was such a short experience, I think you're spot on with adding background music. I considered adding a feature that increased the volume on the data center sfx as you built more to annoy the player, and then offer a reprieve by allowing you to purchase earplugs for an exorbitant price that mutes all the noises. I thought that was a good parallel to what folks who live by these data centers have to deal with.

Thanks again, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

CAPITALISM RAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

Developer

You are all lucky I didn't have the time to implement all the annoying features I wanted to. I was going to make the data centers increasingly louder as you built more of them until you bought the ear plug upgrade. Because that's where capitalism has led us... Anyways,  thanks for playing!

This is so satisfying and I could keep going on and on. Love it!

Very enjoyable clicker game! I kinda wanted to keep playing until the trillions, but as it is, the game was engaging all the way through.

Developer

Thank for playing! I originally coded it to get up to the trillions, but wanted to put a hard stop on it because the content wasn't there for what I could fit in this jam.

Really enjoy the spin on the "pig" theme. From one clicker game to another, I salute you.

Developer

I played your submission, and from one clicker game to another, you killed it! Thanks for giving me something to aspire to if I ever get the itch to make another clicker game. Also, thanks for playing!

Loved it lol

Very funny game, and extremely on theme. I am very happy with the length of the game as clickers can get monotonous but I feel this game kept me engaged the whole time with the perfect ending as the infinite scaling finally ended the whole planet haha. I liked how quickly clicking became useless because it worked as a metaphor for removing the human input from the game just to achieve more value, as these big AI companies have been doing.

Excellent submission!

Developer

Yeah... the lack of clicking was totally intentional, and not a result of me trying to tune the game to reasonable length for the amount of content it had a couple hours before the submission deadline. /s :) I was also probably tired of clicking from play testing, and didn't want anyone else to feel that fatigue. I'm glad you found meaning in it though, and I do agree with your interpretation! Thanks for playing and I appreciate your kind words!

Oops! Guess I should have built a rocket to space with all my billionaire buddies :(

Anyways, I loved this game- you definitely killed it with the theme lol

Developer

That exact thought crossed my mind during development, but I didn't want to give "them" an "out". Once the Earth is truly unsustainable, nobody is going to be having a good time, even if you're alive stuck in space.

Thanks for playing. I appreciate it!
