What is libGDX?

libGDX is an open-source, cross-platform game development framework built in Java: libgdx.com

Unlike many popular editor-based platforms, libGDX is entirely code-centric, offering developers fine-grain control over every aspect of their game. It is the perfect place for exploring ground-up implementations, built on top of lightning-fast OpenGL, and distributable to Desktop, HTML, Android, and iOS.

The libGDX Jam

With our 36th collaboration, the libGDX Jam continues the time honored tradition of making awesome games using the best framework out there. We encourage camaraderie, teamwork, and good sportsmanship with a side of well-intentioned buffoonery.

Schedule

Theme Submission: 3/8/26- 3/10/26. Everyone will be allowed to submit a theme for the jam.

Theme Voting: 3/12/26- 3/14/26. Everyone will vote on their favorite theme. May the best win!

Jam: 3/15/26- 3/21/26. Participants will create their games based on the theme.

Rules

• The game must be created with the libGDX framework.
• The game must be created within the jam period. Late submissions are to be approved by admins.
• Starter projects and templates are permitted so long as they are not fully fledged games.
• You can work in groups or individually.
• Your game must be based on the selected theme.
• Any and all copyright laws pertaining to assets you use must be followed.
