Here's a playtest for you! As I mentioned in the video, I don't often play pure incremental games, so I may not be the target demo. If I had a magic want, I would wish for a boom or bust mechanic, where I have the decision to stop a round and retain extra points. Great UX/UI implementation!

hey I recorded a playtest for this and sent it on the discord!

  • What was the most frustrating moment you experienced?
    • Nothing frustrated me, I understand that you need randomized scares for a game like this
  • What was your favorite part of the game?
    • gettingmy score to go up, and the art style of the game
  • Was there anything you wanted to do, but the game didn’t let you?
    • I thought I could interact with the jack in the box to stop it from coming out
  • If you you could make a wish and change, add, or remove anything from the experience, what would it be?
    • Add cats :^)
  • What would you say you were doing in the game?
    • trying not to get jump scared by the jack in the box
  • How would you describe the game to friends and family?
    • A clicker game about cranking a box and farming flowers

Hey, I will drop my feedback below:

  • What was the most frustrating moment you experienced?
    • The progression was too low and with too much friction imo. Having to wait whole seconds for animations that are frequent hurts the pacing a lot too.
  • What was your favorite part of the game?
    • The jack in a box mechanic is something novel that I would like to see expanded.
  • Was there anything you wanted to do, but the game didn’t let you?
    • I wanted to hit the box top door for avoiding it coming out. Besides having to manually restart each run is annoying.
  • If you you could make a wish and change, add, or remove anything from the experience, what would it be?
    • I would reduce/remove jack in a box scare/scare tease animation durations to around 1 second at most. Besides I would increase pollen and  flower colliders so they are easier to click (specially the flowers). Also wait time between clicks are too long imo for a clicker/idle game and the progression is way too slow.
  • What would you say you were doing in the game?
    • I was revealing a world via cranking a box (a little dissonant tematically for me as I don't see a clear connection).
  • How would you describe the game to friends and family?
    • An incremental game about cranking a jack in a box to restore nature.

Hello, please find my feedback and a recording of my session below:

What was the most frustrating moment in what you experienced?

- I wasn't entirely sure what triggered the scares. I assumed it just came in random intervals after you keep cranking but sometimes it felt like I did something wrong and I wasn't sure why. The fake scares were also fun at first but later in the game I just wanted to collect my pollen and pick my flowers uninterrupted.

What was your favorite part of the game?

- There was a lot I liked in this one! If I had to pick an absolute favourite thing it was the bunnies. They were so cute. But I loved being able to build up my field, the game feel was excellent and it did trigger that 'one more run' feeling.

If you had a magic wand where you could change any part of the game, regardless of cost or complexity, what would you add/change/remove?

- More bunnies please.

What would you say you were doing in the game?

- Cranking a jack in a box to build a field and collect currency to improve that field.

How would you describe the game to friends and family?

- Cute jack in a box and nature themed incremental.

I think this is the most compelling game I have played in the jam so far!

I really got into it, and forgot I was aiming to play lots of peoples games.

Feedback wise, I loved the aesthetic and the building up of the world around you. I think the build up of features is really well timed (eg getting the danger sense).

I initially thought the anticipation mechanic was great, but it eventually got a bit annoying as it forced the camera focus away from whatever I was doing (flower picking or pollen picking etc).

I was dissapointed that the game didn’t continue when I was in the shop, as I had a chunk of down time that would have been nice to have picked my next purchase with while the game was on auto.

I did find a bug (I assume) where I was able to start the auto cranking and then change to the double crank lever, and it would continue to auto crank - which is possibly why I felt I had so much down time.

Similar to other comments, I was dissapointed to realise that the 2x stickers didn’t stack with 4x etc. Though I can similarly understand that there are positive reasons for this too.

Overall great game and I really enjoyed playing it.

I recorded my playthrough, so I will send that your way once I’ve uploaded it :)

My high score is 228.
I know it's weird to say that and I don't know why but I feel like crank rotation should be the other way around clockwise :) And nothing to do with the game but I hated that I can't full screen the game.
I loved when it shows like the nail-biter decision, will it fail or can we survive timings and animation of the lid.
I liked the user interface. I didn't understand what's the queue speed is and what does it do in the game ?
I liked how important is the flowers and bee's in the game. I liked upgraded levers but I kinda wanted to mix and merge them like in the BallXPit game. I feel like the numbers go up feeling should be scaling more earlier but maybe that was my mistake and I did a bad job, so I'll check that again after later. Thanks (ksnnacar)

Nice little game, I can see this being as something that you can play as a main game or put it on small screen on the side and just idle at it.

The icon from the flower currency we get is different from the flower texture we click on and that a little bit confusing.

Also, it feels like the Collection button exists in 3 different places with 3 different colour schemes and it is highlighted as a primary button and Continue as secondary, I feel it should be the other way around.

Graphics are cool but some colours can be a little bit brighter as I think some of the contrast meshes, which is not a major thing to be honest.

Super addicting! Got to 1250 points, but I agree with https://itch.io/profile/non-newtonian-games the flower picking quickly overtook the flower production and stalled the pollen economy, which was highly unsatisfying. Also after the reaching 600 point the game slows down a lot and the milestones cease be worth the effort. Might need more balancing or new mechanics to make the late game enticing.  I also demand an "Auto retry" upgrade, and to shorten the pop up or fake pop up animation.  I was painful to see all my flower disappear after 3-4 fake continuous pop ups. But overall great little game, I enjoyed it a lot, keep it going!

Hey, I played the game a lot longer than I planned!  Very addicting.  I feel like most everything from the upgrades and stickers to the look and feel are well thought out.  One thing that bugged me though, was that I bought an upgrade to get 2x, 4x, and 6x crank bonuses, but I could have just jumped right to 6x if I wanted (after saving up enough flowers)?  It might make sense to make the previous ones required before getting the next.  I guess it could also be a strategic decision to skip them, but as a player I felt like I was wasting flowers on the smaller upgrades.   Also, is there a relationship between the cranks and flowers?  Or are the flowers just random?  It seems yes based on some of the upgrades, but this wasn't really clear to me.  Anyway, great game.  Good work!

Is there a way to turn off the automatic flower collection?  If not there may be a problem with the late game economy.  My flower collectors are too efficient, so I can't stock up flowers in the field, so my risk keeps going up without a chance to skip that.  I think I've unlocked all of the flower chance bonuses, and I try running with the green crank, but still always end up at zero at the end of cranking (it jumps with that initial bonus at the start).   Anyway, probably just a small tweak to values will help (or a new flower generation upgrade).  Just wanted to note it.
