Here's a more detailed breakdown of the game jam schedule and rules:

Phase 1 - THEME SUGGESTIONS

Starts now! Suggest/submit theme ideas through this Google Form: https://forms.gle/ZoMQ9SGof6M6aJiv8

Phase 2 - THEME DECIDED

The final theme will be announced via livestream and social media post directly before the game jam starts!
There will also be an announcement message in the Discord server.

Phase 3 - JAM WEEK

You'll get 7 full days to create your project, upload it to itch, and submit it to this jam.
We understand that there will also be technical difficulties when submitting - there will be a 24-hour grace period (after submissions close) where participants can request late submissions due to bugs or problems building their games.

Don't forget to share your progress in the Discord servers, or use #gwueblejam on social media posts! :D

Phase 4 - VOTING

There will be 5 full days (after the jam ends) dedicated to voting. Make sure to play and rate as many games as possible!

Phase 5 - WINNER ANNOUNCED!

The winner of the jam will be announced after the voting period ends (this will also happen on stream, as well as through social media posts and Discord announcements).

We will reach out through Discord/your game's itch page to get in contact with the jam winner, so be sure to keep your notifications on!
Prizes will be sent to the jam winners after a simple verification process.

IMPORTANT: Cash prizes will only be available to those who have PayPal or Venmo - we will not be transferring money via crypto.

RULES

  1. You're allowed to use any game engine to create a game for this jam (although we recommend Godot)
  2. Any team size is allowed, but be sure to view the Prizes since larger teams may not benefit as much
  3. Any games created before this jam will be removed (don't submit old projects)
  4. Reusing existing code and assets is allowed to an extent:
    • No re-skinning of games made outside of the jam.

  6. No new content may be uploaded after the submission deadline (no music, no polish, no tweaks). The only approved changes are GAME BREAKING bug fixes. Please include other bugs (e.g. doesn’t play in full-screen, etc.) as information on your entry’s page.
  7. Follow the theme and have fun!
  8. This GameJam makes no claims or changes over the submitted project’s intellectual property.
