Welcome to Our Very First Game Jam!

Developers, artists, musicians, storytellers, this is the moment you've all been waiting for! Join us at Gamers Escape for an epic 48-hour competition to make a game from scratch, complete with snacks, activities, prizes, and more! No matter if your game is filled with bugs or looks like the next GTA killer, any submission is welcome. So spread the word, form your teams, sharpen your skills, and get ready for the first major game development competition in Suli!

📅 Event Details 📅

• When: Oct 2 at 6 PM - Oct 4 at 6 PM (We recommend arriving 1 hour early because we'll start at 6 PM sharp)
• Where: Gamers Escape, Garden Avenue, Sulaimani, Iraq
• Theme: Will be revealed Thursday at 6PM!
• Team Size: 1-4 people (solo or team entries welcome)
• Who: Anyone is welcome to join, even if you've never made a game before. Tell us your skills in the community chat and find partners to form a new team!

Your game will be played and rated in the following categories by our collection of judges. The best in each category win a special prize, and get to take home the title of the first winners of our game jam series!

📋 Rules 📋

✅ Games must be created during the jam period. You can't submit a game that was developed before the jam started

✅ Games must run via the browser and/or on all desktop platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux)

✅ You can use assets you find online or choose to create them yourself; the choice is up to you

✅ You can use any engine, programming language, or tool to make your game.  As long as we have a game to play at the end of the event, you can use whatever you like

⚠️ You must be physically present at Gamers Escape and identify yourself with the same email you registered with to be allowed to submit. Users who submit that didn't attend the event will not be considered for final voting or awards

⚠️ We allow AI-generated code and content, but you must be clear and honest about where you used it when you submit your game

⚠️ We recommend being in a team of 2-3 people. Developing a game from scratch is hard in 48 hours. If you're up for the challenge, go for it, just know that distributing the work to fellow developers and artists is also a good move

❌ No NSFW content is allowed 

❌ Game zip files larger than 1GB can not be uploaded. Keep this in mind when selecting assets

• Sleeping pillows and blankets in case you need to recharge

Food and drinks are available at our cafe. Plenty of tables, outlets, and space to spread out!
