  • I like the feel of this! Seems like there's a pretty large pool of "anomalies" you can run into. I must have played 20 or so days across my attempts, and I was still seeing new stuff! Ambient sound is tasteful as well! The execution of the jumpscare seemed a little off though. Scream was weird, and the blurry-ness of the image along with it being the one thing in a different art style made it feel unintegrated. A few of the subtle anomalies are tricky. For example, I'd see the shadow of the *chair* on the right lining up with the *bookshelf* in the wrong way. Does that mean the chair is wrong, or the bookshelf? I just have to guess the first time I see that anomaly, and memorize the answer for future attempts. Or, maybe I was using the wrong visual cue to recognize that anomaly.
  • Nice idea for a small horror game. I did not quite get when all things are fixed again. Also the shadows were quite hard to tell. Maybe add some more obvious things at the beginning?

Jumpscare games are the bane of my existence 💀💀

Well executed though, I liked the simplistic art style and the audio really added to the tension! Cool game overall :)

Developer

Thanks

it took a lot of jump scares to figure what was going on but after that i started having fun, good job!

Developer

Thanks, yeah sometimes the anomalies can be quite hidden, but I hope it still was an overall pleasant experience haha

Talking of an "end screen": Yours is pretty... impressive!! xD

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I guess, it‘s quite the ending for such an otherwise lesser scary game. Thanks for playing!

Once I figured out what was going on, I started really getting into it! Very slick use of the theme. Cool art style, too!

Developer

Thanks, I am pretty bad at drawing, so I tried to do this style, and I think it turned out pretty good for never having done it before l...

Very interesting concept! I somehow triggered the jumpscare in the beginning cutscene.

Developer

Yeah, that bug exists, pretty much the beginning cutscene is the same as all the rooms, so when you click and hit an object it still triggers the mistake, as there was no anomaly yet. I have a fix in the version on my desktop already and will upload it after the jam, thanks for the feedback!

Cool game, the jumpscare got me good! i loved the visual style, i could only suggest adding a bit more variety to the game, but otherwise it was a nice little experience, good job!

Developer

Thanks, the amount of objects is limited partially because of how it detects if you made a mistake or found an anomaly, so I'll have to rewrite a bit of code for that to work... Shouldn't be too bad though.

Fun... other than the jump scares.

Developer

Thanks, but I guess that's what they're for...

Dont' worry, i send the game to friends just to hear their reactions :p

Developer(+1)

HAHA, thanks and I like the way you treat friends ;)

Ok the jump scare got me. Somewhat interesting concept though a bit easy to spot the differences. Theme saves it a bit. Good work!

cool visual👍

Thanks

Try adding more content, all I got was a jumpscare.

Good luck!

Developer

Well, there might have been a bug which instantly jumpscared you, after which the game always closes itself (intentionally). Try playing again, as usually it only scares you when you miss an anomaly or click on a non-anomalous object one too many times.

I'll look into it and check if there is a bug 🪲
