Join our monthly 5-day game jam with $300+ in prizes! Create games using Unity and Bezi, with a special twist revealed at the start.
This month we're making COZY GAMES - in celebration of pleasant, soothing, simple gameplay. We're talking Cats & Soup, Stardew Valley, A Little To The Left, A Short Hike— if you find it restful and satisfying, it fits!
Your game must revolve around a central cozy mechanic, but past that, you've got free rein! If you're a fiend for mobile casual play; prefer mellow simulators; or thrive with peaceful exploration, you're free and welcome to make what makes YOU happy! We just ask that you make it your own, and focus around a central mechanic to make it satisfying, silly, or engaging.
However, there will be a twist revealed at the start of the jam that will shape how you structure your cozy experience!
Bezi is a development assistant that integrates directly into Unity, intelligently indexing your entire project - assets, scenes, packages, scripts, and components - to provide context-aware assistance. Whether you're debugging complex scene-level issues, generating custom shaders, creating editor tools, or prototyping new mechanics, Bezi understands your specific project structure and coding style to deliver targeted solutions that go far beyond what traditional IDEs can offer. You can download and use Bezi here, or visit our itch.io page.
Create a warm, comforting gaming experience that delivers one complete and satisfying gameplay loop that lasts no longer than 6 minutes. Your loop should feel like a cozy ritual that players want to repeat - whether that's running a charming café through one complete service cycle, tending a garden from sunrise to sunset, crafting something beautiful from start to finish, or any other soothing activity that naturally cycles back to the beginning.
Cozy games often become sprawling, open-ended experiences that can overwhelm both developers and players. This jam challenges you to identify and capture the heart of what makes cozy games compelling - those satisfying, repeatable moments that keep players coming back. By focusing on a single gameplay loop, you're exploring the essential cozy experience: the core ritual that feels so good players naturally want to do it again.
Think of it as finding the core game loop that makes cozy games addictive, rather than building all the systems around it.
Think of it as creating the perfect bite-sized cozy break - something players can dive into for a quick moment of comfort, complete feeling satisfied, and naturally want to experience again.
Join our Discord community to connect with fellow developers, find potential teammates, and share your progress throughout the jam. We'll be dropping weekly hints about the special twist in #jam-chat, so stay tuned! For general help and questions, our community is always ready to assist. If you have specific feedback about Bezi itself, please share it in the #bezi-feedback channel.
All winners receive cash prizes and a month of Bezi for free. Winners are determined by Community Voting for places 1-3, with the Best Devlog chosen by the Bezi team.
Place | Prize |
---|---|
1st Place | $150 |
2nd Place | $100 |
3rd Place | $50 |
Best Devlog | $50 |
We're looking for developers who can tell a compelling story about their jam experience with Bezi. A great devlog goes beyond just showing your final game - it takes us behind the scenes to see your creative process, problem-solving moments, and how Bezi fit into your workflow.
What Makes a Winning Devlog |
---|
Show specific examples of how you used Bezi (screenshots of conversations, before/after code, etc.) |
Share both successes and challenges - we learn from honest feedback about what worked and what didn't |
Include your creative problem-solving process and any "aha!" moments |
Document your development journey with visuals, GIFs, or videos when possible |
Reflect on how Bezi changed (or didn't change) your typical workflow |
Create a post in our Discord #bezi-showcase channel anytime during the jam period. Focus on finishing your game first - you can add your devlog in the comments of your post during the voting period when you have more time to reflect on your development journey. Screenshots, videos, or GIFs are great additions to help tell your story!
Bezi jams are run through community voting, and we use Jamlytics to ensure fair and transparent results. Participants will be able to vote and rate, and will be subject to a rating queue of 5. This means that you will have to rate 5 random submissions before rating other submissions to keep the voting fair.
We expect participants to vote with integrity and take time to properly experience each game. We provide an extended voting period specifically so you don't have to rush through games. Please give each submission the attention it deserves!
