Build a plot, show off what you can make, and explore a city of creations built by people like you. The best plots win a permanent home in the city.

what is the world’s fair
A World’s Fair is where the world comes to show off what it can build. This one is virtual, runs in your browser, and is made entirely on Portals. For three weeks, creators build plots, which can be games, shops, social spaces, galleries, quests, and experiences, and the standouts earn a permanent home in Portals City as founding landmarks. No engine, no install, no code. If you can imagine it, you can exhibit it.

Build a plot worth visiting.
Your plot can be a game, shop, social hangout, gallery, quest room, puzzle space, arcade, club, museum, racing challenge, storefront, or something we have not thought of yet. The best ones feel like places people actually want to step into and tell their friends about.
We are looking for builds that are:
• Fun to enter quickly
• Easy to understand
• Memorable within the first 30 seconds
• Replayable or socially interesting
• Polished enough to headline the fair
• Creative in how they use space, interactivity, and identity

Every winner also gets a feature in the World’s Fair showcase, a Founding Builder badge, a creator spotlight, and priority help placing your plot in Portals City.
Premium plot placement means a high-visibility location in Portals City, chosen by the Portals team. Placement begins when your plot goes live in the city. Coins are Portals in-platform currency. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value.

portals.to and join the Discord.
02 Start building. Head to the
jam page and hit Start building. We will spin up your city plot, ready to go. Build right in your browser, solo or with a team.
Tip: stock your plot from the
Portals marketplace, full of models, textures, and sounds to build with, including plenty that are free to use.
Building with AI? Connect Portals to your AI tools with the
Portals MCP and build alongside it. Setup takes a couple of minutes.
03 Submit before the deadline using the Join jam button at the top of this page.
Your submission should include:
• A playable Portals plot link
• A short description of your plot
• Controls / how to play, and estimated playtime
• Screenshots or a short clip
• Any third-party assets used, and confirmation you have the rights to them
• A contact method (Discord or email)
• Optional: a short “how I built it” devlog
how entries are judged
A panel of judges visits every plot and scores it from 1 to 5 on each of the six criteria below (1 = needs work, 5 = exceptional). The highest totals take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Judge-decided to keep things fair.

Is the idea fresh, specific, and memorable, or something we have seen many times before?
Fun & engagement · scored 1–5
Is it genuinely enjoyable to visit, play, and explore? Does it make you want to stay?
Use of Portals · scored 1–5
Does it use Portals well, with interactions and ideas that feel native to the platform rather than generic?
City fit · scored 1–5
Would this make Portals City feel more alive? Does it belong as a real destination in a city?
Visual & spatial design · scored 1–5
Is it attractive, readable, and well laid out, with a clear sense of place?
Polish & usability · scored 1–5
Is it stable, easy to understand, and smooth to play in the browser?
rules
• Build a playable, browser-based plot in Portals.
• Keep it appropriate for a broad community audience.
• No stolen assets, infringing IP, hateful content, harassment, malware, scams, or unsafe links. You must have the rights to everything you submit.
• You may use existing assets, templates, or prototypes, but your entry must include meaningful new work made for this fair. Disclose what was pre-existing.
• AI tools are allowed for ideation, art, writing, audio, or code if you disclose material AI use and have the rights to the results. Low-effort AI spam may be removed.
• Submit before the deadline through this jam page. Late entries are accepted only at the Portals team’s discretion.
• Portals may remove spam or rule-breaking entries, and may require edits before a winning plot is placed in the live city.
• Winning gives you the right to claim your prize. Live city placement is conditional on passing a quick Portals review for safety, performance, and quality.

What is a plot?A space you build for the fair that people can visit and play. Win, and it becomes a permanent part of Portals City.
Do I need to know how to code?No. Portals is fully no-code. If you can drag and drop, you can build.
Is it free?Yes. Free to enter and free to build.
Can I work in a team?Yes. Teams pick one primary contact. One major placement prize per creator or team.
Can I submit more than one plot?Yes, but only one of your entries can win a major placement prize.
When does my placement start?When Portals City places your plot live. The 12-month clock starts then.
