[NSTNKT018] Danza de Dagas EP is the fruit of a spontaneous connection between argentine DJ and producer Distant and French collective Instinkt Records. To be released on the 22th of October.

Distant is the founder of Terra Furia, a magazine dedicated to bringing light and attention to South-American techno artists. The project then evolved to become one of Argentina’s most lively label and event planner, bringing international artists to the country’s second biggest town, Córdoba. There is a natural bridge between Distant’s projects and French label INSTINKT, built on the same thrive to share and push forward the scene.

The sound of Distant is complex, crackling and uncompromising. On Danza de Dagas and Rabia he summons thunders, dissonant synths, alters his own voice and fills the sonic space with a rumbling big room reverb. Distant’s work is complimented by three big cats’ remixes : Eve Schwarz, DJ Varsovie and IV Horsemen.

Self-proclaimed Prince of burning campings, DJ Varsovie mixes up his grandiloquent detuned throat singing with eerie pads and rolling basslines for the perfect end of summer hitter. IV Horsemen’s take on Rabia brings an organic EBM groove while Eve Schwarz puts Berlin in the middle of Buenos Aires by turning Danza de Dagas into a gritty and rave ready track.

The release as a whole feels coherent and morphing, it exudes a lavish darkness throughout. In these times of party cravings, it is a welcome scream of passion and energy, the field recording of a long-awaited death tango.
