Well, I’m not going to answer the first part because this is something that could happen in the game.
As for the second one, MC’s mom wouldn’t stand for it. She would verbally destroy him in public. But, if MC’s mom was alive, would Bran be this way?

Last time I checked, Arthur's heir doesn't need to be his child. But what about Bran's heir? Considering that he had two children with a partner who didn't love him back, it suggests to me that in Cameliard you do need to be a descendant or at least a direct relative of the king or queen to ascend the throne.
Yes, Cameliard currently follows very traditional ideation when it comes to throne succession, marriage, and the like. Obviously, Guin and Arthur were an arranged marriage but Camelot is more progressive overall.
But it doesn’t always have to be like that in Cameliard…

Guinevere's half sister is named Gwenhwyfach, with Gwenhwyfar being her supposed evil twin sister
Guinevere only has one brother as far as I could tell, and his name is Gotegin, but a variation of his name exists as Gotegrim. He's an antagonist in the story he's featured in.
Finally her cousin, who is mostly known for being a lover to Morgana, and his name is Guiomar

Hey! These ARE cool and interesting lmao, thanks for sharing! I’m planning to use some names like this (I just hadn’t done the research yet lol) so I will definitely consider these as part of the pre-set name suggestions. I’m also going to add some Roman names too since MCs mom is Roman and probably a couple Welsh names based on meanings I like.
I so didn’t know about Guimar so now I’m pretty curious to look that up and read about it!!

I just realized there's a non-zero percent chance that MC has never knowingly interreacted with someone that doesn't blame them for their mother's death before coming to Camelot. I could see the ROs having to gently explain to them that no, we don't blame you for that, and that being blamed for such a thing isn't normal.

Mostly her own insecurities. Is that what it typically boils down to in the real world? Bran poisoned Guin’s mind so that she believes that MC could be their downfall if MC were to ever “move up” (so to speak) in life. Why? Well, Bran has his own reasons. He’s used MC’s dead mother to help accomplish this.
Plus, Guin knows about MC’s magic and is jealous. Although, that is a new development since spending so long in Camelot. Since Magic is accepted here and many view people with magic as something special, she envies her sibling for something she can never have.

Given how MCs life has been so far, do you think they will have the opportunity to.... react to the fact there are people that genuinely like them and want to befriend and protect them even?
I say this because I'd imagine after quite literally, a lifetime of being treated like actual scum by everyone around them, they'd probably develop walls or subconscious defenses towards people. So when someone actually, truly doesn't want to hurt them, and MC realizes that... well that'd leave an opportunity for doors that have long been shut to violently burst open.
Of course this is on the complicated side of the possible psychology of MC, I figured it would at least be worth mentioning since honestly? MC isn't the one romancing or befriending the ROs, it's the other way around, and regardless of how passive MC can be I'd also imagine it won't be easy for them to get used to healthy relationships.
Yes, I believe there will be opportunities/possibilities. I don’t think it would make a lot of sense for there not to be those options, although there will be others as well.
You make some great points and I agree that it is complicated. However, it’s definitely something at the forefront of my mind. I want there to be a range of different responses MC can have. Due to like just limits of not putting too much on myself, there will probably be like 3-5 “types of responses” max (not including romance/flirting). Although you can play multiple ways and choose whatever options you want, it wouldn’t be like “play this type of MC exclusively” unless the player wanted.
