The movie will stream this July on Netflix

If you are in love with German actor Louis Hofmann like we have been for years, you will be happy to hear that his new moving drama film 23000 LIVES will be available for streaming on Netflix from July 17th! Inspired by the true story of the NGO Jugend Rettet, this drama follows a group of young people who no longer want to stand by and watch as countless refugees die in the Mediterranean on their way to Europe. With no experience in sea rescue, they launch a crowdfunding campaign, buy an old fishing vessel, and go on to save the lives of more than 23,000 people. But what begins as a shared mission full of hope and determination soon puts their understanding of law and justice to a severe test. Check out the trailer below:

 

Some TV news for you today, starting with Alicia Vikander who has joined Aaron Taylor Johnson in ENIGMA VARIATIONS series at Netflix playing a woman he marries as he alternates between male and female partners. The series tells the story of Paul (Taylor-Johnson), a man remade by the lovers who ignite and undo him across ten transformative years. It’s an intimate yet sweeping portrait of masculinity, sexuality, and modern love, and in a world of endless choices, it asks the question: will we know when we’ve found the one?

 

Netflix has also cast Diane Lane in their half hour comedy series A HUNDRED PERCENT which already has Nick Kroll, Sam Richardson, Jason Mantzoukas, and Vanessa Bayer in the cast. She will portray Suzanne, a bestselling author, media mogul, and legend in the self-help world in the comedy about a group of friends who are stars in the world of wellness and self-optimization. Their books, podcasts, and morning routines might help us live our lives more perfectly, but away from the screens and mics, they are most definitely far from perfect.

The movie is out on Prime Video this July

Getaway just got a whole new meaning in the first trailer for shark movie THE DEVIL'S MOUTH which will be available for streaming on Prime Video July 29th. Five friends explore The Devil's Mouth cave system in Thailand for one last adventure before life in the real world begins. But they soon discover that something is hunting them under the water… fast, silent, and deadly. In the suffocating darkness, trust erodes, panic spreads and every wrong turn becomes a fight for survival. Jeff Wadlow directed the movie starring Kathryn Newton, Lana Condor, Nico Hiraga, Gavin Casalegno, Tommi Rose, Tayme Thapthimthong! 

 

While we are roasting in this ungodly summer heat, there is a Biblical character who experienced even bigger temperatures. Today I can share with you first posters and an exciting epic adventure trailer for DANIEL: THE FIERY FURNACE which should arrive into cinemas September 11th directed by the Kooman brothers! The film stars Mena Massoud (Aladdin) as the prophet Daniel and Elijah Alexander (The Chosen) as King Nebuchadnezzar. From the sun-baked streets of Jerusalem to the power centre of ancient Babylon, this is more than a movie. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest times, God still delivers, still speaks, and still raises up unlikely heroes who refuse to bow. 

The saga will be turned into a TV series

Since romantasy is so popular among the female audiences, Starz has opted THE WOLF KING romantic fantasy saga by Lauren Palphreyman for a TV series adaptation, and that also includes the sequels The Night Prince, which was published in 2025, and The Wolf Queen, set for release this November. According to Variety, the story follows a princess named Aurora who is kidnapped by a werewolf and finds herself ensnared in a lethal love triangle and  is thrust into a war between humankind and her feral captors, forcing her to decide whether she’s a prize to be claimed or the master of her own destiny. Tanya Saracho has been set as the show runner and will also executive produce the series with Palphreyman.

Charlie Harper is out this September

While you are enjoying his role in Voicemails for Isabelle over at Netflix, Nick Robinson has another romantic movie coming out too and today we have a trailer for CHARLIE HARPER which will be out in cinemas September 25th also starring Emilia Jones. The film is an emotional modern romance that explores the tension between love, ambition, identity, and personal growth. Through the evolving relationship of Charlie (Robinson) and Harper (Jones), the film examines what happens when two people deeply connected to one another begin growing in different directions, forcing them to confront whether love alone is enough. 

 

If you are looking for something light and cheerful to watch during the ungodly heat of this summer, say Bonjour to new six part romantic comedy series PARIS IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA which will have a two episode premiere July 30th exclusively on Hallmark Plus streamer as a small screen adaptation of Jen McKinlay's popular novel.  This limited series was produced on locations in France, Spain and Ireland!

Maxwell Martin, Dustin Demri-Burns, Sian Clifford, Anthony Boyle, who join previously announced Alicia Vikander and Tom Hollander. The film centers on socialite Emily Fisher (Vikander) and her husband Max (Hollander) as they invite their equally wealthy friends to their new chateau in France for the night. Among the guests are a group of people who really can’t stand each other: Jim (Clafin) and his wife Holly (Keira Knightley), a struggling diversity consultant who continuously clashes with everyone until she gets a migraine, and Danny (Boyle) a quick-witted talent agent that name-drops his client list every chance he gets. As the evening begins to unravel and dark secrets are revealed, waitress Niamh (Erin Kellyman) finds herself right in the middle of their chaos.

Channel 5 has released first image from their new mystery series LAST RESORT which follows retired librarian Gail (Caroline Quentin) as she takes her sister, Joy (Niamh Cusack), to an idyllic holiday town in what is supposed to be a fun-filled bucket list trip. Sadly, Joy is suffering from the early stages of dementia, so the sisters are keen to get the most out of every moment they have left together, inviting longtime friends Dee (Tessa Peake-Jones) and Charlie (Jason Watkins) along for the ride. However, these best-laid plans quickly go awry when tragedy strikes the local community, with police being quick to declare an unfortunate accident – but the group are convinced it is murder and set out to prove it. As old crimes surface and dark patterns emerge, the group of friends finds that this seemingly idyllic resort town – with its beach walks, pub lunches, and good-natured bickering – hides something far more sinister. Together they must piece together one devastating mystery and track down a killer who has been hunting in this close-knit coastal community and beyond! John Hannah plays a cop. 

 

Netflix has announced the return of their multicamera sitcom LEANNE for August 27th with Leanne Morgan returning as Leanne whose world is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for another woman. Supported by her family, including her ride-or-die sister Carol (Kristen Johnston), Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter and hope in the most unexpected places. Lainey Wilson, Jaime Pressley and Billy Gardel are guest stars in the new season.
