This MR improves !669 (merged) to use a condition instead of a parameter from XML, so we can detect the way the alignment was produced and use the matching p0 parameter computation.

For backward compatibility, if the condition is missing it is considered false and we use the legacy, wrong p0 parameter.

This should be backported to !822 (merged) and 2025-patches.
