Updating contributors list and copyrights

Thanks @chrisjohgorman and @Vipul-Cariappa for updating this to work on modern Python in !74 (closed) and !75 (merged).

I've tried to update the copyright headers, but I didn't do it very carefully. I suggest adding your name to those and updating the dates whenever you modify a file.
