Consulting Services for fwupd and the LVFS
Most hardware vendors use standardized firmware update protocols and so employees can read the introduction and easily follow the official documentation to begin uploading firmware. Some hardware vendors, OEMs, ODMs and silicon suppliers have to work with the upstream fwupd and lvfs-website projects, merging custom plugins and supporting custom firmware at no cost.
If a device uses a custom or non-standard update protocol, then some vendors may find aspects of working upstream hard, having never worked with an open source project or with open source licensing before. Below we have some companies that offer consulting services for fwupd and the LVFS, that can either be used for training or to port legacy firmware update code to a new plugin.
All companies listed below are familiar to the fwupd project team, although we have done no checks on them ourselves. Please contact the consulting companies directly if you would like to know more about the services that they provide.
