Make no mistake about it, it is your side that is threatening violence in response to an election that you did not like and in response to bills which haven’t even been proposed let alone voted on. If you genuinely cared about democracy then you wouldn’t be showing up to demonstrations openly branching firearms. Intimidation and implicit threats of violence is not protected speech. In a democracy, when we don’t like that are particular side has been losing elections, we either change or message or work to expand and get more people to come to vote. You have consistently failed to do that since 2009. Counties in the state that were once solidly Republican have gone Democratic. There’s a reason why the most heavily populated parts of the state have turned the way they did. And our votes are no less relevant or important than yours. You are not somehow more “authenticly” Virginian just because you don’t live in Fairfax, Richmond, or Hampton Roads. You are not more authentic because you are white or Christian. But it’s not just those places. You have been losing in the suburbs and the exurbs.
You are afforded opportunities to participate, I suggest you do so rather than lapse into violence which ends well for nobody. You may have your little toys but the governor and general assembly have the national guard, state troopers, and most importantly, the legitimacy of the voters. Choose wisely.
