“Show Icon Only” for Bookmarks
-

Hello Opera Team,
I’d like to suggest a feature for the bookmarks bar in Opera. At the moment, bookmarks take up a lot of space when both the icon and text are shown. It would be very convenient to have a “Show icon only” option when right-clicking a bookmark.
This feature would display only the website’s favicon (logo) instead of the full text, similar to how pinned tabs are represented. For example, if I save ChatGPT.com, I could choose to display just its logo on the bookmarks bar rather than its name, just like in Microsoft Edge, as shown in the following images:
This would help:
- Free up a significant amount of space on the bookmarks bar
- Allow users to store and access more bookmarks at a glance
- Make the bar cleaner and more visually intuitive
- I believe this would make bookmark management in Opera much more efficient.
Thank you for considering this idea!
