Login problems

Problem to solve

Hi! I cannot login, gitlab keeps replying that login or password is incorrect, while they are not, I’ve double checked.

I see login page, it is the same, after each attempt it keeps showing the same error “login or password is incorrect”

Steps to reproduce

Just try to login normally.
I have succesfully reset my password using standard procedure. Received the confirmation email, but with new password still can’t login. Tried to clear cookies and after that gitlab told me that I am trying to change something I don’t have rights to and dropped me out on login page.

Is it possible you are using a secondary email address to sign in? You would be able to receive a password reset to this email, but would not be able to sign in.

As per the GitLab Documentation, a secondary email address can be used for password resets, but not for authentication. You must use your primary email or username to authenticate.

Thanks for reply, you are right - I’ve tried to login with different email address and it worked. Problem solved, but it is a bit weird - I signed up with different email address and thought that it is my username and is primary. Second address was setup because (most probably) the first one got to your stoplist and I’ve stopped receiving notifications.
