We use Gitlab for the work repository, and Fork to pull, and I’m trying to set back up on a new PC. I have been provided the HTTPS URL link and set the parent folder where the repository should clone to. My Lead and my boss have both verified my username.
Here’s the steps I have taken:
- Downloaded Fork > Clone > Repository URL set > Parent Folder set > project Name is accurate
- Username put in > Password used for Gitlab’s site put in > Credentials failed
- Reset Password > Credentials failed still
Problems:
- The verified email, seen both by my Lead and boss, is the same as my login but the @[username] is different on Gitlab. I have set the username on my Gitlab the same what is seen in the repository. Still doesn’t work.
- Every time I try to reset my password because it never works, Gitlab wants me to set up a New project or Import a project. The URL that says Change-My-Password still redirects to this page, there is no sidebar, there is no other buttons other than this prompt.
- I have two emails stating my Gitlab login might be compromised, when I click Change Password or Help, I’m still redirected to New/Import project.
- I have reset my password so many times because when I try to regularly login to Gitlab it says my password is wrong, even though I have saved what the new one is and it still doesn’t work.
I am stuck in an endless loop of credentials failing. My username has been verified against the repo’s list. I have tried to reset my password and it still fails every which way. It is not possible to reset my password on the back end of repo. I have tried to do a reset from my old PC, still doesn’t work. The username in Fork doesn’t match what the repo says, but the email does.
I don’t know what else to do. The only support I can find is the community forums, there is no one to contact, no email I can find, it’s just this. I’m literally unable to work, someone please help, I feel so stupid.
