  The second book I’ve read by traveller, black ops war hero, philhellene, 100-cigarettes-a-day smoker, and notorious brothel creeper Patrick Leigh Fermor, this time is an account of his travels around the southern Peloponnese in the 1950s, specifically, the southern bit, Mani.

  A very jolly festive xmas! Athens to London to Devon to Brighton to Southampton to Brighton to Athens. Great food, company, and gifts. The only bad gift I received was probably the Novel Coronavirus 19.

  An engaging book despite almost nothing at all happening. Incredibly fastidious paragraphs, each sentence tends to start in huge despair and end in wondrous delight or vice versa.

  I gave up listening to audiobooks as I found that I wasn't absorbing the stories, but that turned out to be a plus during this poor book.

  Didn't think this would be my cup o tea, but it is almost impossible to find a fault.

  The Complete Stories by Franz Kafka

  Kafkaesque. ~100 stories, from 50 pages long to a few paragraphs in length, tiny worlds of people generally having a Strangely Bad Time.

  Great weather, bad film, exploring penteli mountain, meze, accidental cake, souvlaki, pizza, cheese and regrettably making a right tit of myself.

  Bugonia at Cinobo Opera

  A film worth a lot less than the sum of its parts. Great acting but suprisingly unenjoyable. Some good grisly bits! I just felt sad for the disabled character who seemed to be there only for comic relief. Poor, can’t recommend.

  The Colossus of Maroussi by Henry Miller

  Being something of a colossus of Marousi myself (tall, lives in Marousi), I was excited to discover this book by Henry Miller, whom I have never read.

  Benaki Museum - The Ghika Gallery

  Superb museum of greek modern art. Lots of woodcuts which I'm very fond of, plenty of cubist paintings, and some really amazing photos from the civil war.
