doive At first notes what came to mind was : "*Colosseum* is back! Yet it could pretty much be the work of *Dauðaró*" .. the music here is grim and misty, filled with epic growly snarls and synth lines that'll accompany you in the depths of a resonating world, constructed and held together as in an ambient droning ritual of sorts. Neither the pacing nor the production would leave us expectating .. who wouldn't light-heartedly spin some cool ☼dOOm mUsic☼ these days?

David Fischer Eldrovian, the new brainchild of a certain Icelandic multi-talent, blends funeral doom with blackened elements and atmosphere in a way that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. Well-trodden paths are being acknowledged, yet the songs deviate from them with intrepid poise and assertiveness. I did not expect Astral Candle to put forward with elegant strings before squelching, Lovecraftian-horror-like vocals brutally rip through the track’s ephemeral fragility. More than remarkable! Favorite track: Astral Cradle.

bmurator Icelandic Atmospheric Funeral Doom. This is even darker than its predecessor! The almost whispered & yet still harsh vocals are quite unsettling & give one of the most tortured atmospheres I have ever encountered so far... :) So thick & black that you feel even the sounds themselves are struggling to get out so as to convey this message of pervading darkness... :) I love the lyrics to the last track! I now feel that even my dreams are well & truly haunted! Thanks Dauðaró! Highly recommended!!!

The moon, pale archivist of night, Forgets the names it used to keep— The sighs of tides, the ash of flame, The prayers mouthed softly in their sleep. It casts its light on graves long sealed, Yet cannot trace the face once known. Its silence deepens every year, A crown of ice, a heart of stone. What echoes linger, faint and small, Are ghosts the moon cannot recall.

about

Noctivorus is a descent into the devouring night—the sound of dreams collapsing under the weight of cosmic grief. Across three monolithic compositions, Eldrovian conjures a void-wreathed soundscape of funereal dread, where time distorts and light forgets to exist.

From the spectral birthing of Pale Womb to the celestial unraveling of Astral Cradle, and finally the forgotten silence of What the Moon Cannot Recall, this album drags the listener through deep, meditative darkness steeped in surreal and abyssal visions.
