Colm Meaney is an Irish actor born on May 30, 1953 in Dublin, Ireland. He began acting at age 14 on the school theater. After graduating from high school, he made his debut on the Polish National Theatre. He made guest appearances in several series such as Moonlighting (1986) and Remington Steele (1987). He was nominated for a Golden Globe for The Snapper (1993). He played the role of Chief Miles O'Brien in the series Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993). His other notable credits include Con Air (1997) and Layer Cake (2004). He was previously married to actress Bairbre Dowling.
