Devcon Improvement Proposals (DIPs)
Suggest what we should include, change, or subtract and help improve Devcon.
Inspiration: DIPs are roughly inspired by the more decentralized PEP, BIP and EIP processes.
Goals: We aim to use open and value-driven Ethereum tech where it makes sense and benefits all attendees. We want to encourage collaboration between different projects.
How to submit a DIP: Write a short post on the Forum, share your idea and what you need (from us) to make it happen. We discuss and iterate from there.
What happens then? You'll make it official by posting it on GitHub, and after we accept the DIP, you can get started. Your team will receive Devcon tickets to bring your activation or integration to life.
Need inspiration? Check the DIPs we have accepted in the past below! We prioritize proposals that are open-source, open to all attendees, value- and community-driven. Approval of proposals ultimately lies with the Devcon team.

Deploy Meerkat to power live, privacy-preserving Q&A and post-session feedback across Devconnect ARG. Core upgrades: (1) reputation-assisted curation to raise question quality at scale; (2) lightweight post-session surveys to close the loop for speakers and organizers. Meerkat is open source and already field-tested at major Ethereum events.

A multi-stage onchain gaming adventure for DevConnect participants, blending browser-based fully onchain games with real-world quests at community hubs throughout the venue. The experience showcases the cutting edge of onchain gaming infrastructure within the Cartridge/Dojo ecosystem on Starknet L2 while driving engagement with community hub spaces.

Create a high-vibe tabletop space at Devconnect where attendees can drop in to play and learn games. Similar to last Devcon, I will host Memethology sessions; others are welcome to BYO-host their own games in the same area (Mindy mentioned Battlestar Galactica, Nico Shi will offer her beloved crypto-themed tarot reading).

100% open source (https://github.com/cleanappio), CleanApp is the quintessential Ethereum hybrid app. Players take photos of anything they subjectively want ‘cleaned up’ – both in physical & digital Ethereal realms (example: a tripping hazard at the entrance of the Devconnect venue and/or a UX bug in the contract verification script on Etherscan). Our AI analyzes & batches these reports & automatically sends them to relevant responsible/interested parties for fixing. Players get tokens for their insights & feedback.

I propose that DevConnect auction off 10 x Regular Tickets on Paddle Battle (https://www.paddlebattle.auction/) and distribute the auction proceeds to an Ethereum aligned public goods project.

Use an updated Pretix payments plugin for streamlined ticket purchases on Ethereum. This plugin uses Daimo Pay for any-chain checkout and Peanut Protocol for refunds.

A lot of people will travel to Devcon SEA. This will impose a number of risks to these people: flight Delays, baggage loss, theft, and others. We will build a decentralized travel insurance for Devcon SEA participants.
