the double-edged watered-steel blade of curved and tapering form with raised central spine, the jade hilt of multifaceted waisted form, the pommel surmounted by a silver-gilt lion atop its vanquished prey, both with ruby-set eyes, the blade decorated at the forte to each side with gold damascened foliate interlace and inlaid rubies and emeralds, the wood scabbard clad entirely in silver-gilt decorated in repoussé with scrolling foliate interlace, the top end with set with diamonds, rubies...

A fine kard - Curved, double-edged blade with central raiser and double groove, the base engraved and gilt with human figures under cartouches with inscriptions in Arabic; iron grip entirely engraved and silver-inlaid in the same manner; iron-plated wooden scabbard decorated en suite with the grip.
