Ethics

My commitment to helping clients make responsible choices extends to my own company. I strive to run an ethical business that can be a force for good.

This is a work in progress.

Things I do

  1. Only take on work that I’m confident I can deliver

  2. Pay collaborators quickly and fairly

  3. Strive to be as transparent as possible about pricing, publishing my rate and recent project durations

  4. Consider software as my business’ supply chain, factoring supplier’s social impact into the choices I make

  5. Commit to The Ethical Move’s Pledge

  6. Donate 1% of my turnover to the planet and organisations that fight muscular dystrophy

  7. Support Check My Ads

Things I don’t do

  1. Use LLMs/generative AI tools that have likely been trained on copyrighted material

  2. Use deceptive design patterns (formerly known as dark patterns)

  3. Take out tracking ads

  4. Offer permasales

  5. Use spy pixels in emails

  6. Offer or receive secret kickbacks for work referrals or collaborations

  7. Use Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp for any part of my business
