Back and Forward Buttons are grayed, but work with right-click. Personal Bookmarks and bookmarks dont show in initial window. but show in new window if open from bookmarks, also bookmarks are shown after opening bookmark manager. no "about mozilla" text. build id 2002081612

Have you uninstalled mozilla before installing a new build? Have you tried with a new profile? (wfm linux trunk cvs 2002-08-16)

No, got stable release in one directory and nightly in different. Worked fine with all former releases.

And did you install the nightly buid in the directory where the previous nightly build install resides. This is probably a dupe of bug 160980

Unistall all versions of mozilla and reinstalling them solved the problem. Didn't work when only uninstalling alpha-version and keeping stable version.

This sounds like bug 162593. Had the same problem, uninstalling Mozilla before installing the new one did not help. Check out the bug for more info.
