Je suis de retour à la shop avec le printemps 🤸♀️✨️ je faisais ce petit oiseau pour mettre dans un cadre mais je l'ai fait trop gros. Je l'ai mis sur une plaque à la place. Le cardinal est un oiseau le fun à exemplifier à cause de sa crête.
Encore une fois, la finition a été faire avec mes gros outils, j'ai tjrs pas remplacé la pièce brisée sur mon dremmel...

"Still Life with Fish Bowl," Paula Modersohn-Becker, c. 1906.
Considered one of the most important early Expressionists, Modersohn-Becker (1876-1907) is considered the first female Western artist to do nude self-portraits, and the first woman artist to have a museum dedicated solely to her works.
Brought up by a cultured family, she learned to draw early and began formal art lessons at 16, when she also set up her first studio. She moved to Paris in 1900, and there married Otto Modersohn. The marriage was turbulent, though, with her realizing that she yearned for independence. It was an intensely creative time for her, though, and she completed many works. Sadly, she died of a postpartum thrombosis in 1907, only 31.
A museum of her works opened in 1927 in Bremen but the Third Reich ruled her work "degenerate" and some works were seemingly destroyed. After WWII her daughter Mathilde started a foundation in her mother's name and a new museum established.

THIS is a great, super-hazy DIY #90s album (barely-1999) that features slow-burning and “foggy” sounding guitars and buried vocals. The term “slowcore” is thrown around a lot, and I guess that would definitely apply here.
This 3-piece from San Jose, CA famously liked to record on cheap, vintage equipment like old tape decks, and it creates a very distinct sound. Think of a more atmospheric and cosmic sounding Codeine or Low.
Another nice job my Numero, introducing another cool and obscure band of yore to the kids.
A very short but thoroughly enjoyable six songs.

It’s so quirky, goofy, and unique and just kinda does its own thing.
The first TWO records of theirs have the same effect on me. They’re both so great, and it’s hard to do this one and not want to play the other immediately after.
And for what’a it worth, Fred Schneider may be my favorite all-time music personality.
There are no words to describe Fred Schneider. He is beyond cool, and SO gay that he’s almost straight.
And as a side note:
I’ve desperately been searching for Fred’s 1996 album Just Fred on vinyl for an eternity.
The ‘96 white vinyl press is the only one that exists, and goes for close to $100 CAD.
I’ve never even seen one, but I’d drop that easy.
If any of you see one, please let me know. What would you need? A ride to the airport? Your gutters cleaned?

This was an album I first heard out of needing to pick a random title from one of those Columbia House/BMG music clubs as a kid.
“16 Tapes For A Penny” sounded like a good deal.
It was a deal I took disgusting advantage of MANY times as a kid, using multiple mailing addresses and aliases, AND never buying a single thing after that.
Sometimes, i just picked a random thing I’d never heard of to help round out the list, and Holy Smoke was one of those.
I had never heard of Murphy at that point (or Bauhaus for that matter), but I remember instantly liking this album. Particularly “The Sweetest Drop” and “Let Me Love You”.
Great memories of this record, and it still sounds great to me.

I had a lot of fun designing the calythrian look and still lots of scribbles featuring other outfits waiting or a finish. Their whole style evolved from the protective gear the first settlers had to wear day and night, when the planet was still an unhabitable wasteland with literal rivers of acid. As their colonial director Dr. Mena Reis put it so eloquently, "we have picked a world that could never give us love, and yet we convinced it to do so anyway." That is Chimera in a nutshell, for better or worse.

Rippling Ribbons - Two astronauts floating in space. We can see one of these astronauts in the bottom left corner. The ribbons start at the heart area—reaching out, following along a Milky Way, traveling around a planet, until meeting the other astronaut, trying to save a handful of planets - earth and earthlike. The second astronaut is already dissolving and meets his friend somewhere and somehow again. Through time and space. - We had 24 hours to finish the artwork (including sleep and breaks).
