make sure to get the crystal board!
this is actually a strange set. With the big yellow wheels and propellers on both sides, it can drive some people away. dont be fooled. this is a very interesting build. the propellers can be arches up and stay, thanks to a spring brick. also THERE ARE NO STICKERS. however there are only 2 printed pieces.
the figure is also very cool. he has a huge helmet and some cool green glasses. the body is a reqular aquazone body for this time though.
the big blue board is also very cool. while it has no connecters for building, the crystal crawler can ride right on top of it. the board is very hard to find now because there are no lego studs on it so people selling this set wont know this goes with it.1 out of 1 person thought this review was helpful.
my first big set
i got this set when i was 5 for my birthday. it is so fun. its got 3 cars 2 buildings and a little service ramp. the tow truck is probabilly the best vehicle. it autually works with the crank and the chain holds the car on. the figures are easy to put in on all the vehicles because the top gets removed very easily. the supply truck is also cool. its god 2 barracades, a spare tire, 2 cones (they may be hidden in the picture) and my first girl minifigure. the blue car is just the car to have service and ir goes well on the service ramp. the smaller building has some sort of a gas tank and some equipment there is another tire with a computer which i never got what it was. the last building is an office. its bviously the most complex and its the same basic structure as the other building. there is a trash can a computer and some tools. the manager and a cart is also good
its a great set and you will have hours of fun with it. the only thing i dont like is that there are 6 instruction booklets. most are the fold out ones. its a good starter set and defitnetly 10/102 out of 3 people thought this review was helpful.
its good for a younger kid
not all the lego sets are for older kids. i got this set when i was 4 in christmas in 1998. it was close to 1999 so maybe the stores had it? any way its still a good set. it has a race car which is a quick build and very fun except i only had 1. the pit stop isnt fancy but it has loads of tools. a jack, a gas pump, a stop sign and i think i speed monoter (the white piece with the numbers) 2 spare tires and a lot of small hand tools. the flag is just the icing on the cake and overall its a good set.

my first set EVER.
its wierd how both the other reviewers said this was there first set too. now this set would seem like a waste of time but what i liked back then the sets for younger kids (the old 1997-2000 city sets) had actual bricks and figures instead of the 4 juniors sets.
anyway on with the review!
this set is very nice. i got it when i was 4 and i lived it! its got 3 vehicles for a cheap price. the vehicles dont take much time to build and helps for younger kids. its got loads of acesories. (shovel, broom, cones, baricades, some "dirt" pieces and a black piece which i called a tool box at the time). the vehicles are cool and the loader actually works and the dump truck is good for younger builders. the supply truck was probabilly the hardest to build but there all easy.
its a great set for a younger one but for someone who is 8 or older, they might get board.3 out of 3 people thought this review was helpful.
i love it!
this is a great set. it comes with a sail which makes it stand out among other sets. the sail can actually work if you have enough air. the figure is cool with his hood and glasses. there is a radio and an ice pick near a really cool piece on the back. also i like how the skiis are held on by mego phones which is really creative. the instructions show real arctic things in them and i like that. the out post has a marker flag and a computer. i also used the sail once to build an arctic wind surfer. that water must be freezing. its a great set and you should get it. its really worth it.
