Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers
Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers
©2011 LEGO Group" />More Gribbles for the Race!!
I'll summarize in point forms for easier reading.
Pros:
Solid Designs.
Lots of gribble details on the pod engines.
Transparent Technic Beams
The MINIFIGS
Great colors. Deep Yellow and Orange color parts. The parts are well manufactured.
Exciting and Fun Build. No Boring Parts
The build of the stand for the Pod racers was a breeze.
Really had the feel of the two wanting to blast of for the race at the end of the build!
Numbered Bags for modular building.
Exceptionally high swooshable set.
Cons:
Minor sticker application. but i don't see a real problem.. can do without it.
Is that Qui Gon or Obi Wan?
Difficult to put to rest for display
Overall... its a set worth buying. I can attach it to a motorized track and make a slot car racing competition.5 out of 9 people thought this review was helpful.
and we have GO! for lift-off
This is a very exciting set, ushering in the new space theme coming out this year 2011. Of course, not every detail can be modeled accurately. For example, the hull is suppose to be much fatter and stout.
But as an overall representation of the actual shuttle, i really like the design. With the upcoming space theme, i can really add on to the details of the launch, especially the moon buggy modules and the launching rig.
Pros:
-The shuttle is well designed to be sturdy.
-Attachment to the fuel tank and boosters are well done. Strong but easily detachable when not needed
-A very nice design
- Expandable with the new 2011 space theme.
Cons:
-Boom equipment is very flimsy and droops easily.
-Not really mini fig scale as the cockpit is really cramped... but if it were to be scaled to the actual Shuttle vs the mini figs, the set will be HUGE!

Color me Black and call me Air wolf!
The design resembles that of the helicopter from the TV series Air wolf!
Its not in mini fig scale in which it is slightly smaller. However for its size, it has a number of moving functions -> the blades, rotor, the cargo door. If only they made it larger, i can include this into my coast guard vehicle rescue collection.
Only draw back is that the blades don't spin well if you turn it too fast. Its wobbly causing it to vibrate around the pivot point and resist its spin action.
Nice design considering the number of pieces used.
The Alternate Models
I only made the speed boat which looks worthwhile. The bi-plane simply doesn't look appealing. Nothing special about it though. Just a simple model which looks nice on a desk. You can swoosh it around while waiting for the desktop to load.
Add a large fan at the back and you can make it look like a swamp speeder in mini fig scale.

The Outrunner.
Building the engine was a fun. It was different then the previous dirt bike set 8291. And its size is much bigger than 8291. Its looks more compact and has more "meat" than the 8291 dirt bike which looks very skeletal.
The front wheel however is odd. It should have been smaller in diameter for this kind of bike.
It model scale is roughly 1:6 and could sit beside any other die-cast motorbike models of the same scale.
It has stickers as well and one printed piece which is the part that represents the inlet of the fuel tank.
Overall representation of the bike was awesome compared to real world designs. And in my opinion, it resembles a Ducati Hypermotard less the shrouds

Steampunk'd!!
The design for the house is for that someone whom is either a clockwork mechanical inventor or a wizard. Living in small spaced but towering house.
Like many had mentioned earlier on... the colors are rare for a house. The mixture of brown earthly colors. Makes good huts and small wooden cottages.
I would like to add another level and make a mid size hole in the roof and fashioned a telescope for Weasley and Harry to star gaze while they are not out battling the evil.
Actually it also goes well with a farm by the size... although farm sets needs abit of change with its bright colors. MAybe a dash of rundown wood colors here and there..
Overall, i like this set... and is sure to give me great ideas.
