LEGO interests:
As a late 90s/early 00s kid, I would describe the primary defining Lego themes of my childhood as the following:
Ninja;
Adventurers, both Egypt and Amazon;
Rock Raiders;
early Lego Star Wars, primarily the yellow era through to Revenge of the Sith;
Life on Mars;
and, of course, BIONICLE.

To a lesser extent, Slizers, Alpha Team, Arctic and Knights' Kingdom were also influencers of my Lego interest. Three other sources also deserve due credit: the Stingrays subtheme of Aquazone, which were a little before my interest piqued, but which I saw images of online and which enticed me with their designs and their illusiveness; the various Lego video games that gave me insights into the theme characters and their worlds; and Time Cruisers, of which I knew nothing of the story or concept, but was the theme from which my first ever large set, #6494, came.

And, of course, the UK Lego Adventures magazines (1999 - 2002) which, while not spectacular in their storytelling by any means, provided everything I needed as a kid to get me completely hooked on the worlds, concepts, and aesthetics of almost all the above Lego themes.

I would describe, perhaps, the sets that had the biggest early influences on me, and that I am still the most nostalgically attached to, as: #5906, #6013, #5938, #4930, and #7121.
