40220 London Bus is currently available as a giveaway with qualifying purchases of $75 or more in the U.S. and Canada. It was met with a lot of enthusiasm when the news was first announced.
Creator has taken a decidedly outdoorsy bent in the latest wave of sets, with 31052 Vacation Getaways, 31053 Treehouse Adventures and 31051 Lighthouse Point. Today I'll take a look at the first of these sets, with reviews of the other two coming in the next few days.
Full props to Huw, who makes many of my reviews look good with the most excellent pictures.
At Huntington and Malibu
They're shooting the pier
At Rincon they're walking the nose
We're going on safari to the islands this year
So if you're coming get ready to go
Let's go surfin' now
Everybody's learning how
Come on and safari with me

The press release for 10252 Volkswagen Beetle was met with great excitement. We have received a set and in the latest transatlantic collaboration, Huw has taken the radical pictures for this safari and I am providing the colour commentary.
So, is this set worth the safari, or should you wait for another wave? Read on to find out....
60134 Fun in the Park has been eagerly anticipated for the arrival of the baby minifig as well as a wheelchair, among other features. Others have dismissed it as purely an overpriced minifigure pack with mediocre minifigs.
Which is the case? Join me on a visit to the park to find out……
The Adventure Camp subtheme has been an interesting one - I like the premise of all the outdoor activity. How does the 41121 Adventure Camp Rafting measure up?
One of the sub themes in the most recent Friends wave is the Adventure Camp. A couple of months ago LostInTranslation reviewed 41122 Adventure Camp Tree House. Today I am reviewing the smallest of the series, 41120 Adventure Camp Archery, and in the next few days I will finish the sub theme with 41121 Adventure Camp Rafting.
Recently the Creator theme has yielded a couple of buildings each year, a 'town/city' one and an 'out of town' one. I reviewed the former for this year, 31050 Corner Deli a few weeks ago. Today I am taking a look at this year's rural offering: 31048 Lakeside Lodge.
The cover art shows a very picturesque scene of a lodge set by a lake (hence the name!) as well as a friendly moose lurking in the background. Our outdoorsman appears to be enjoying a day of fishing.
I will be honest with you: I bought this set because of the moose...
In the latest of multi-continental reviews, Huw and I are going to take a look at 31050 Corner Deli, one of the most recent Creator 3-in-1 offerings.
I really enjoy the 3-in-1 sets because of the variety they offer; and seeing that this is a building made it a must-have for me.
Who doesn't love dragons? This wave of Elves sets gives us three. Zonya the Fire Dragon is the largest of the three - is bigger better, or is she just blowing smoke?
All of the Elves sets we've looked at so far have been absolutely charming. Today we'll look at the smallest set of the wave, Emily Jones and the Baby Wind Dragon. The box art (front and back) in various exercises teaching Fledge how to fly, using a chocolate bar as enticement -- one of several new pieces in this set.
Elves sets have been quite delightful, and dragons have been a much anticipated addition to the theme. Merina the Water Dragon looks to be the smallest of the dragons. How does 41172 Water Dragon Adventure stack up to the others?
This year's seasonal sets started with the Cupid Dog, on which there were decidedly mixed opinions.
Do things get back on track with the Easter Chick?
One of the sub themes from the recent Friends release is the Birthday Party.
Is it worth a celebration, or will you be singing "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to?"
A couple of years ago, we had 3061 City Park Café and 41006 Downtown Bakery. Now, we have Heartlake Cupcake Café. Is this a retread of old sets, or does it combine the best of the two?
I have a particular fondness for LEGO dwellings, and so when I saw that pop-star Livi had a house to join Emma and Olivia, I had to pick it up. Is this worth getting on its own, or is it just another house?
LEGO dogs are like buses: you wait ages for one then two arrive at once! Following on from Huw's review of the Creator Park Animals set I'm taking a look at the other doggy set that's just been released, 40201 Valentine's Cupid Dog.
Seasonal items have received mixed reviews in the past couple of years. After the mixed bag of vignettes last year we are returning to the 'cute animals' theme that debuted in 2013. Let's see whether this set gets this year's selection off to a good start...
There has been a number of Friends vehicles - Beach Buggy, Convertible, Roadster, and so on. How does the Exploration Car rate, or is it just another vehicle?
With the last seasonal set of the year, we take a look at a most appropriate scene, 40125, Santa’s Visit. Again thanks to Huw for the pictures to my colour commentary.
This vignette is the stuff of many childhood dreams – the time when Santa visits on Christmas Eve and enjoys the cookies and milk left out for him by the hopeful children of the household. The only witness to this scene is the household’s cat.
I love the seasonal sets, and always display them in my office. So I was really happy to see that there wasn’t just one, but two seasonal sets for the end of the year. I first checked out 40124, Winter Fun. Many thanks to Huw for his superior photo skills, I’m your colour commentator.
