the MISSION
We want to bring you food that makes you happy to eat and drink. And I’m not talking about the regular old “hey that was pretty good” bite. I’m talking about food you’d fight over the last bite of. Food that is damn good.
I cook for the people in my life and love every minute of it. I want everyone to feel that joy. Smell the amazing aromas and hear the sounds that make cooking fun, and of course, eat the deliciousness you just made. Oh, and we have to have cocktails! They’re just way too much fun. Cocktails are such a social drink. Mingle, talk, relax. Bring your friends together, and make a night of it! This site is about enjoying life through food and trying new things.
Decadence, drinking, and desserts are fun, but we do things in moderation around here. Don’t be getting any crazy ideas that we’re eating bacon jam sandwiches with brie and Guinness every day. That’s only on Saturdays.
the PEOPLE
Hi. I’m Julie and I’m a food nerd. I’m the cook, baker, and co-bartender around here. Welcome! I love to eat and cook/bake for the people around me. I’m totally obsessed with carbs, love Guinness, whiskey, and cheese. Give me a big-ass wedge salad and I’m a happy happy girl. I’m a musician and a mom, and I swear the only dessert I need for the rest of my life is chocolate chip cookies.
I’m married to Mike (AKA the “head bartender”). We have all kinds of different beer, wine, and spirits rolling through our house to try out and play with thanks to Mike’s job. It helps that we were both bartenders for years, and we like to geek out about liquor. Mike’s food and drink requests have led to some of my best dishes, so he’s a keeper.
We have two boys together who help with taste testing, and our basset hounds do a great job as the ground cleanup crew.
