William Denman
William Denman (1872-1959) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He was nominated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on January 10, 1935 to replace William Ball Gilbert. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 29th, and received commission on February 1st. From 1948 to 1957, he served as the chief judge. On July 3, 1957, he assumed senior status and continued to serve in this capacity until his death on March 9, 1959.[1]
