Patrick J. Urda is a judge on the United States Tax Court. On August 3, 2017, President Donald Trump (R) nominated Urda to a seat on the court.[1][2][3]

Urda was previously counsel to the deputy assistant attorney general in the tax division of the U.S. Department of Justice.[1]

Education

Urda earned his bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 1998 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2001.[1][4]

Urda was nominated by President Donald Trump (R) on August 3, 2017, to a seat on the United States Tax Court vacated by Diane L. Kroupa. Hearings were held before the Senate Finance Committee on June 12, 2018. The committee reported his nomination favorably and he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on August 28, 2018.[1][2]
