Superb Ahir embroidered patchwork Kutch Wall hanging .146cm - 206cm This piece was made with embroidered patches, approx 60 years ago, using older heirloom pieces with the embroidered motifs being in typical fine mochi inspired ari stitch, the inner panel being approx 80 years old, this perfectly preserved piece was discovered in a house in Kutch, Gujarat, where I was buying textiles and I asked to see what was wrapped in newspaper at the bottom of an old tin trunk !
