Continue your college journey at Yeshiva University.

If you're currently enrolled at another college or university and are ready to make a change, Yeshiva University welcomes transfer students into our vibrant academic and values-driven community. Whether you're seeking a more personalized education, a dual curriculum, or a stronger sense of purpose, YU can be your next step forward.

Who Is Considered a Transfer Applicant?

You are considered a transfer applicant if you have completed at least one semester of college coursework at an accredited college or university after graduating high school.

Application Deadlines

We encourage you to apply as early as possible for the semester you wish to enter. Transfer students may apply for either the fall or spring semester.

  • Fall Semester
    Priority Deadline: July 15
  • Spring Semester
    Priority Deadline: December 15

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis after these dates, depending on space availability.

Credit Transfer Process

Transfer applicants who request courses previously taken to be evaluated for possible transfer, or request pre-approval for courses they plan to to take, must submit the following documents. (Yeshiva University will only evaluate transcripts and syllabi for credit after applicants have been accepted).

  • Official college transcript with course numbers and final grades (for courses already completed at another institution)
  • Full syllabus in PDF format for each outside college course to be evaluated. A full syllabus must include:
    • Name of the institution where the course was taken
    • Semester in which the course was taken
    • Course title
    • Course number
    • Number of credits
    • Course description
    • Topics covered
    • All assignments
    • Method of assessment/grading
(If the syllabus is missing any of the above elements, supplemental documentation containing these items may be provided from the Institution's Learning Management System (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.). Please note: This documentation must bear the institution's official logo or other identifying mark or be a screenshot of the document within the Learning Management System site.

Pre-Approved Courses

Pre-approved transfer course evaluations are shared directly with admitted transfer students. Current YU students interested in taking courses at outside institutions must work with their academic advisor to obtain prior approval in accordance with university policy.
