marple-cat asked:
For the wip tag game, I'm intrigued how Appo and Gree meet!
Hi Mar! Ahh so sorry it took me so long to reply to this! So the story is more “what they do after the war/day in the life” kind of thing, not so much how they meet but I can go into my thoughts on that too if you’d like!
From the WIP game, “Wild Life”
Premise - Gree takes Appo hiking on a date, Appo is not a hiker
Usual disclaimer that this isn’t edit so, ya know…

“This…*huff*…was not…*huff*…what I meant…”
Three years since the end of the war, and Appo would be the first to admit he was out of shape, at least by GAR regulation standards…
…and by Gree’s it would seem.
“You said anywhere. You’d follow me anywhere and here is where I want to be,” Gree replies, an annoying cheerfulness in his tone.
Appo glares, feeling mild guilt as he shrugs off his gear and drags it behind him over to a large rock. He plops down, eyeing his partner defiantly.
“It was metaphorical, I was speaking metaphorically,” he scowls.
“Ah that’s such a beautiful language, love, please go on,” Gree wanders over and places a peck on Appo’s sweaty forehead.
“Ah kriff off,” replies Appo, elbowing Gree and smiling mischievously. “You’re all sticky.”
“You love it,” Gree replies with a smile, ignoring the eye roll from Appo.
“I do not love it. Contrary to what might be popular belief not all of us like sweating our shebs off,” Appo grumbles. “Didn’t you get enough of this during the war?”
“Mmm…“ Gree’s smile widens. "Nope!” he digs through his large over-packed backpack, pulling out a ration bar and throwing it at the other clone.
“You’re lying, you hesitated.” Appo says as he rips open the powdery chunk of protein.
“I didn’t, it was a pause. For effect, for drama.” This last bit Gree says as he lifts his own ration bar to the air, pinky pointed up.

That’s all I got for now…I started writing it then ran out of steam, but now that I’ve re-read it I may give it another go.
