According to a new book list for public schools in Texas, 5 million children will get to hear the Gospel. The Texas State Board of Education voted to establish a proposed list of required reading that would remove “Romeo and Juliet,” “The Great Gatsby” and other titles, and prioritize the text of the Bible. Starting in 4th grade, at least one Bible passage per year is mandatory in the curriculum; for elementary-aged students, a picture-book adaptation of David and Goliath and readings from the Bible about Adam and Eve are also included.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has reportedly launched a civil rights investigation into Major League Baseball (MLB) following allegations that Christian players were threatened with fines for displaying Bible verses during a team-sponsored Pride event. According to reporting by Townhall, the investigation stems from concerns that MLB may have applied a different standard to religious expression than it has to other ideological messages displayed by players.
Rep. Yassamin Ansari, radical Democrat congresswoman, recently filed new legislation that would mandate employers to fund up to 12 days of paid leave annually for workers to have abortions. Ansari’s proposed Reproductive Healthcare Leave Act, H.R. 8158, is the centerpiece of her three-bill “H.E.R. Agenda” (Healthy, Equity, Rights) package. According to LifeNews.com, “It explicitly covers ‘pregnancy terminations,’ which is a whitewashing of the term abortion, along with menstrual pain, miscarriages, menopause symptoms, endometriosis, IUD insertions, vasectomies, fertility treatments and biopsies.”
