And here’s the next batch of 193rd oc redraws! We’re almost done now! This time it’s Isu Squad, who I’ve already rambled about in this post, but I’ll ramble a little more here <3
Isu Squad is made up of Smoke, Mirror, and Wraith. They’re a Commando Squad that was permanently transferred to the 193rd after a mission gone wrong killed Vertigo, their squad leader, and severely traumatized Wraith. The 193rd took them in with open arms, of course, and they’ve settled in quite nicely.
Smoke is the slicer of the squad. She’s feral enough to rip a bastard’s throat out and extremely protective of her remaining squadmates. She and Mirror have been attached at the hip since the day they were decanted, hence the matching names. And speaking of names, Smoke lives up to hers. While she has a large presence and a reputation for commanding attention, her she thrives in stealth operations. Slipping in and out of even the most secure facility is more like a fun game than a high-stakes mission.
Mirror is Isu Squad’s demolitionist. They were Vertigo’s second-in-command, and as a result have now become the default leader of Isu Squad. The electrical scarring on their face was caused by a training accident when they were younger; the electricity damaged their eye enough that they had to get it replaced with a cybernetic. They’re the ice to Smoke’s fire, per se. Some have compared them to a droid with how emotionless they seem sometimes. They have an extremely long fuse, and their anger is cold. You do not want to get on their bad side, because they hold grudges for a very, very long time.
Last but certainly not least, Wraith is their sniper. He and Mirror have always been the quiet ones, but he got even quieter after the mission that killed Vertigo. Now, he mostly prefers to sign instead of speak aloud. Smoke and Mirror have grown extremely protective of him since Vertigo’s death, which he honestly doesn’t mind much. It means at least one of them is always near him, and since he hates being alone, it works out great. Vode who don’t know him well tend to avoid him, because the silence combined with his staring problem mean he’s unintentionally unsettling. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult for him to connect with vode outside of his squad, but he’s never been extroverted anyways.
Feel free to ask more about them, I love to talk about my babies <3
i want a boyfriend whos afraid of the dark but pretends not to be

So! My 193rd Commando Trio has been on my mind and I’m gonna use this post to ramble about them! For reference- here are the babies! Smoke (She/Her), Mirror (They/Them), and Wraith (He/Him), pictured in that order.
First up- I’ve decided to call them Isu Squad, because “Isu” in Mando’a is “Gas/Cloud/Miasma” and I thought that sounded cool. Originally, there were four members, the fourth being Vertigo (He/Him). We’ll talk about what happened to him later.
So, cadet years. Smoke and Mirror were attached at the hip pretty much since decanting, hence the matching names. They’re sneaky little shits- Smoke is the most visibly feral, while Mirror prefers to hang back and observe. They’re both just as vicious, though, and unafraid to tear a bitch apart. Vertigo was always the most talkative of the bunch. He could talk someone’s ears off, and then some. His squadmates never minded, though; it was always nice background noise. And Wraith was the cuddliest, and the second quietest after Mirror. He’s a big sweetheart, but he’s got a bit of a staring problem, so he creeps people out. Vertigo and Wraith both picked their names just because they sounded cool.
Mirror’s scar was earned during this time- they got into an accident with something electrical — probably an electrostaff or something similar - that took out their eye. Since they’re a Commando and not just a regular trooper, they got a cybernetic replacement instead of just being decommissioned. There’s white hair growing near the scar due to hand-wavy reasons (I just thought it’d look cool lol). The lip scar was an impulsive add, not sure what caused that yet.
Wraith’s tattoo came shortly after the start of the war. The squad had some downtime and they all got tattoos and/or piercings, though I’m unsure what the others ended up with, other than Smoke’s ear piercings.
Not even a year into the war, one of their missions went wrong. I’m not sure of the exact details yet, but Wraith and Vertigo were separated from Smoke and Mirror for a prolonged amount of time and went through some shit. By the time Smoke and Mirrors finally got to them, Vertigo was dead and Wraith was severely traumatized. It’s where his facial scar originated from, and after that he went selectively mute. He can and will talk if needed, but much prefers to just sign if communication is needed. His squadmates don’t push him to speak, and though they coddle him a bit after it all, he has no problem with that.
Now a member down, Isu squad gets permanently assigned to the 193rd battalion, under General Adai Na’Kala and Commander Sil. The stability — well, stable relative to how chaotic the war had been so far — allowed Wraith to recover as much as he could, and the 193rd was quick to welcome them into the fold. Smoke and Mirror are as close as ever, though now both are extremely protective over Wraith, even if he’s more than capable of taking care of himself. But he doesn’t mind one bit.
And that’s them! There’ll likely be more content to come, because I love them so much <3 But for now, that’s all there is

omg I was hoping they had matching names! good for them!

clones who are comforted by their batchmates' weird quirks my beloved <3

oh this is cool! y'know I never thought much about the commandos (shock for me, I know, LOL) but I do like this idea. they're the top tier clones, of course they're gonna be kept around!
Not even a year into the war, one of their missions went wrong.
Oh No they were young... 😭
By the time Smoke and Mirrors finally got to them, Vertigo was dead and Wraith was severely traumatized.
THEY WERE SO YOUNG... 😭😭😭
He can and will talk if needed, but much prefers to just sign if communication is needed.
does he want a playdate with my signing clones because I have several and I think they would all like him (he would scare some of them to some degree with the Staring Thing but it's cool)
Smoke and Mirror are as close as ever, though now both are extremely protective over Wraith, even if he’s more than capable of taking care of himself.
I'm!!! Love!!! Them!!!
Eeeee I’m glad you like them!!! They are so dear to me and I had a blast brainstorming as I typed all of this out!! Fun fact: I was debating between Skye and Vertigo for the dead squadmates name, so I asked a friend and they chose for me! Though I do like the name Skye so I might repurpose it for another clone baby
Wraith would absolutely love a playdate with other signing clones! He’s not very good at connecting with others but having other clones who sign would help a lot with the anxiety of reaching out. And Smoke and Mirror would certainly appreciate some help in getting him some friends that aren’t them.
Ooh Skye is a good name 👀
*checks list* hmm if you want signing clones then - the Aces squad, Sky and Silver from CFM, Nox and Tally from Ghost Squad, Watcher, Shiny Squad, Yancy from Royal Squad, Riye Verda, and CC Kamor!
I love making my blorbos friends with my friends' blorbos, it's like playing video games 😂
and Smoke and Mirror can perhaps go to a coffee shop for a lil break!
Oooh I love all of those names!!! Though Ghost Squad in particular sound like they’d get along with Wraith
Same! It’s very fun enrichment for both us and the blorbos!!!
Smoke and Mirror would love a coffee shop break, and they certainly deserve it. We can send them to a cat cafe :3
