About ABC

The Accessible Books Consortium (ABC) is a public-private partnership led by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a United Nations specialized agency located in Geneva, Switzerland. Under the terms of the Marrakesh Treaty, books in accessible formats may be produced and exchanged across borders for the benefit of people who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print disabled. ABC supports the implementation of the objectives of the Marrakesh Treaty at a practical level.

The ABC Global Book Service is managed by WIPO. The ABC catalogue contains thousands of accessible digital books in many languages and includes a large collection of high-quality, humanly-narrated titles. The titles contained in the catalogue are produced by ABC partner libraries located in countries that have ratified and implemented the provisions of the Marrakesh Treaty into national law.

To create an account, you must be certified by a participating ABC partner library as a person who is blind, visually impaired or otherwise print disabled. Once you have an account, you can download accessible digital books free-of-charge, subject to WIPO's Terms of Use & Privacy Policy.
