This simple yet elegant table originates from Beijing, circa 1860 and is finished in its original dark lacquer. It combines many of the typical features of Chinese tables, such as horse-hoof feet, a waisted top and 'S' shaped stretchers. Unusually though, the table top is made from a single piece of thick wood rather than by using a panel set within frames. The table is still in its original condition and would be perfect as a hallway table or perhaps as a dressing table.
