Cookies on Vinted
When you use the Vinted app or website (together, "Vinted"), we and our partners may store information on your device or access information already stored there using cookies and similar technologies. Some of this information may be personal data.
We use these technologies to make Vinted work, keep it secure, understand how it is used, remember your choices and, where you allow it, personalise content and ads.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, the different types we use and why, and how you can control them.

What cookies are
We use the word "cookies" as a simple term for cookies and [all other] similar technologies used on Vinted:
Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of text stored by your browser on your device when you visit a website. When you return to the same website, your browser sends those cookies back to the website that placed them.
This helps the website recognise your browser, remember your settings and understand how the site is being used.
Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser ("session cookies"). Others may stay for a bit longer, until they expire or are deleted ("persistent cookies").
Other similar technologies
In our app, and sometimes on our website too, we use other technologies that work in a similar way to cookies. These include:
- software development kits ("SDKs") – small pieces of code built into the app that help it work properly, enable certain features, and help understand how the app is used;
- web beacons (also known as pixels, tags or clear GIFs) – small pieces of code or tiny graphic images that help us understand whether a page, ad or link has been viewed or clicked;
- other tools, such as local storage and cache, device signals and statistical identifiers, advertising IDs, URL trackers and server-to-server tools. Some of these tools store or access information on your browser or device, while others rely on technical characteristics. In some cases, this may involve creating a unique identifier based on your browser or device information (so-called "fingerprint").
What data cookies collect
Depending on how you use Vinted, cookies and similar technologies may collect or generate different types of data:
- your IP address and information derived from it, such as approximate location;
- cookie IDs, device IDs, advertising IDs, and similar identifiers;
- your browser type, operating system, device model, app version, language, time zone, screen settings and network information;
- the pages you visit, what you search for, what you click or tap, how long you stay, what links brought you to Vinted and what actions you take;
- whether you viewed or interacted with an ad, and whether that led to further action;
- crash, diagnostics and performance information;
- your cookie, privacy and choices, as well as other settings and preferences; and
- where enabled and permitted by law, precise location data or other device signals.
Most of these identifiers do not directly show who you are, but they may still be linked to you or your device.
Why we use cookies
Cookies and similar technologies on Vinted serve different purposes depending on their type.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are needed for Vinted to work properly. They help with things like logging in, saving your privacy choices and other settings, filling in forms, securing Vinted and fixing errors. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work.
Functional cookies
These cookies remember your settings and preferences when you return to Vinted, so your experience is smoother and more tailored to you. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.
Performance cookies
These cookies help us understand how people use Vinted, for example which pages or screens are most popular, how users move around the platform and where they run into problems. We use this information, usually in aggregated form, to analyse and improve Vinted. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site, and will not be able to monitor its performance.
Targeting cookies
These cookies help us and our partners show you more relevant ads and offers on and off Vinted, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure how campaigns perform. They may also be used to build a profile of your interests. If you have agreed to receive personalised marketing messages, we may also use these signals to make them more relevant to you. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less relevant advertising.
Social media cookies
These cookies support social media features, such as sharing content, or helping us understand how people engage with our content on social media platforms. If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.

We use both cookies set by Vinted ("first-party cookies") and cookies set by partners ("third-party cookies").

Our consent tool may use the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) or a similar industry framework. If so, you may see a broader list of vendors than the ones actually used on Vinted. This does not mean that every vendor shown is setting cookies or receiving data from Vinted. The vendors actually used on Vinted are the ones identified in our Cookie Settings.
Your choices
You have several options for managing cookies and similar technologies, depending on what they are used for:
Cookie settings
When you open Vinted for the first time, return after a while, or use our website in private/incognito mode, you will see a cookie notice. It will let you review and manage the cookie choices available to you.
- You can also update your choices at any time:
- In the app: go to Profile ▸ Cookie settings
- On the website: click Cookie settings in the footer
If you’re not signed in, we remember your choice by setting an opt-out cookie or a similar local setting on your browser or device.
If you are signed in, we save your choice to your Vinted account so that it can be applied across all devices linked to your account, subject to technical feasibility. Some changes on mobile devices may only take effect after the app refreshes.
Browser and device settings
You can also control cookies and similar technologies through your browser or device settings.

Please note:
- blocking or deleting all cookies may affect how parts of Vinted work, and any opt-out cookies that record your previous choices will also be removed;
- browser settings may not control all non-cookie technologies, such as SDKs;
- on mobile devices, changes to your settings may not take effect immediately and may require the app to refresh;
- if you use more than one browser or device, you may need to update your settings on each one, unless your choice is linked to your account.

Where required by applicable law, we recognise browser-based opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) for the website. Learn more
Additional opt-out tools
Some third parties also offer their own opt-out tools. For example:

- Google Ads Settings
- Google Analytics browser add-on
- Liftoff / Vungle opt-out
These tools are provided by the relevant third parties, and their availability or effectiveness may depend on your browser, device or region.
Additional information for U.S. residents
If you reside in the U.S., including California, certain third-party cookies and similar technologies used for advertising, measurement or analytics may involve disclosures of data that some state privacy laws describe as a "sale", "sharing" or "targeted advertising".
Depending on the technology, this may include categories of data such as:
- identifiers, including cookie IDs, device IDs, advertising IDs, IP address and account-linked identifiers;
- internet or other electronic network activity, such as pages or screens viewed, searches, clicks, ad interactions and timestamps;
- commercial information, such as whether a purchase or other action followed an ad or campaign;
- approximate geolocation and device information; and
- inferences about likely interests or preferences.
