tryssa thorne is a former apostate from the anderfels who spent some time with the stone-bear hold in her youth after a life altering injury (amputation of her right leg) and fell in love with the married augur ulfrik hallvarðrsen. the avvar have often several marriages during their lives but this marriage was meant to last for a decade according to the traditional avvar rope tying, and she eventually left the tribe for good.
she was conscripted to become a grey warden which she first resented but eventually came to appreciate as it offered her a manner of safety as an apostate. she mostly stayed alone though, keeping on the move. she really missed the stone-bear hold but couldn't bare to go back either, as ulrik was still married.
something something she and ulrik can't ever be truly together even when his marriage is over bc they both have their responsibilities and see each other like once every few years, so it's very very sad, but also compelling.
