No dumb questions! We've been running this bang for three years. So far, we've got very niche fics and we've never had a fic left unclaimed. If it does happen, we'll send it straight to our pinch hitters who are very keen to claim fics!

Please try to get in touch with your teammates as soon as possible. We'll see you all officially on July 31 for your next mandatory check-in. This check-in will be mostly to make sure you've contacted each other and found ways to communicate easily.

Remember your team number; we'll ask for it for every upcoming check-in.

  • 📝Writers: please make sure your teammates have access to your draft as soon as possible!
  • 🎨Artists: some of you are paired up in teams or assigned to more than one team; check how many art pieces you are required to create for each assignment.

Artists and Betas: we sent you an email with a link to all the stories we have for Clone Bang 2024, as well as a form that you must fill for claims.

You need to fill out the Claims form by July 7, 11:59PM UTC. You can check that time against your own timezone here.

If we do not receive your form by July 7, 11:59PM you'll be considered dropped out of the event (with no penalty, meaning you can come back next year)!

Writer Sign Ups are closed.

The first mandatory check-in was sent to all signed-up writers.

The check-in form is open from June 24 to June 30, 11:59PM UTC. You can check that time against your own timezone here 🔗.

Reminder that there will be no extensions: once the form is closed, you won't be able to check in anymore (no exceptions)!

Clone Bang 2023 begins posting on January 1, 2024 🎉

We're thrilled to announce our 35 teams will begin posting tomorrow! If you're looking for clone-centric fanworks, you're going to be thrilled!

Our Big and Mega Bang teams we'll start posting during the first two weeks of January, with some of them updating through the month; our Mini Bang teams will start posting after January 14.

Team Assignments 📬

2023 Fic List

The list of fics available for Art and Beta claims has been sent to all artists and betas. Please take the time to read it thoroughly.

Artists and Betas will receive their respective Claims form on August 18: using the list they received today, they will need to fill out their Claims form by August 20, 11:59PM UTC. You can check that time against your own timezone here.

Betas and artists have a couple of days to familiarize themselves with the list and look at the fics! On their respective Claims form, they will have to rate all of them on a scale from 1 (Not Interested) to 5 (Very Interested). Bear in mind that artists will have to rate at least 5 fics either 4 or 5 (3 fics rated either 4 or 5 for betas). If many artists and/or betas claim the same fic, we'll go on a first-come, first-served basis!

By now, all signed-up artists, betas and writers should have received at least one welcome email from us and one check-in. If this is not your case: contact us immediately!

We've heard from participants informing us they did not receive our welcome email and/or check-ins: please make sure that our emails are not ending up in your spam box. Since we send all check-ins BCC'ing everyone (so as to avoid publicly sharing all email addresses), our emails might end up in your spams. If this is the case, please whitelist theclonebang@gmail.com.

We cannot stress how important this is: all official communications are done via email. If you don't receive our check-ins and miss a mandatory one, you'll end up automatically dropping out!

Pinch Hitters: We didn't send you welcome emails, but if you want to be certain you're in our list, you can send us an email (and we'll gladly reply back).

Beta Check-In #1 (mandatory)

Form open until August 12, 11:59PM UTC.

This beta check-in is mandatory: we only have two questions. Betas have until August 12, 11:59PM UTC to reply (you can check that against your timezone here ).

We'll officially check back in with betas on August 13.  On that date, betas are going to receive a list of all the fics to claim: please take the time to read it thoroughly.

We are also going to send the Beta Claims form on August 18; using the list we sent a week prior, betas will need to fill out the Beta Claims form by August 20, 11:59PM UTC. You can check that time against your own timezone here.

Writer Check-In #3 (mandatory)

Form open until August 5, 11:59PM UTC.

This writer check-in is mandatory. Most questions will be used for the Story Details form, which is a list of all Clone Bang fics that we will send out to artists for Art Claims and betas for Beta Claims.

This check-in will take more time for writers to fill out than previous ones. We recommend that writers have these at the ready before they start answering all the questions:

  • Rating of their fic (cannot be Not Rated for the purpose of claims);
  • Major archive warnings (if any) and additional warnings (if any);
  • Main characters and main relationships;
  • a 100-word summary (cannot be longer);
  • a 200-word snippet (cannot be longer).

Reminder that there will be no extensions: once the form is closed, writers won't be able to check in anymore (no exceptions)!

Early Writer Check-In #3 (optional)

Since the upcoming Writer Check-In (Check-in #3 - Story Details) is mandatory, we wanted to offer writers the possibility to check in early!

Check-In #3 will be open from July 30 to August 5, 11:59PM UTC. It's an entire week, but just in case some of you will be very busy at that time (or, who knows, on vacation somewhere where signal is an option at best), we can send you the Check-In form earlier

What this means:

  • You will be able to fill out your Check-In #3 form before July 30;
  • You will be able to send us a draft of your fic before July 30;
  • You will still have until August 5, 11:59PM UTC to fill out your form and send your draft. 

Reminder that there will be no extensions: once the form is closed, you won't be able to check in anymore (no exceptions)! You can check in earlier but not later!

In any case, the form will be open for all writers from July 30 to August 5, 11:59PM UTC. You can check that time against your own timezone here🔗.

Writers: If July 30-August 5 is going to be a busy period for you, send us an email before July 30 and we'll send you the Check-In #3 form early!
