Gusty winds and low relative humidity will increase fire danger across northeast NM this afternoon. Do your part to create one less spark! Avoid open flames, keep vehicles off dry grass and properly discard cigarettes!
Showers and thunderstorms return to NM today through Tuesday. Precipitation amounts have trended upward, and between 0.10" and 0.25" of rain is increasingly likely at many locations near and south of I-40. Lightning strikes in receptive fuels may result in new fire starts, although the risk is decreasing since rainfall amounts have trended higher.
Showers and a few storms will spread across New Mexico from west to east today through Tuesday. Rainfall amounts between 0.10" and 0.25" will be most common near and south of I-40 as well as over the Northern Mountains. Outdoor activities may need to be rescheduled. When thunder roars, go indoors! See a flash? Dash inside!
Temperatures will trend slightly warmer mid-week. Showers and thunderstorms will spread from west to east across New Mexico today through Tuesday. After a quiet Wednesday, precipitation chances return late week, with the highest chances in eastern New Mexico. Rain chances will stick around through the weekend.
