KIBA DACHI The lateral stance, translated as "horse stance," resembles the position of a rider sitting on a horse. Movements from Kiba dachi are primarily executed sideways. This stance frequently appears in katas and is particularly characteristic of the Tekki series (shodan, nidan, and sandan). In the three Tekki katas, movements often also occur forward. ➡️ Condensed excerpt from the book _"The Essence of Karate," link in bio. 👊🏼🥋
